    Cyclic Ketogenic Diet Critique

Hey I was just curious if I could get away going 3 days high carbs and 4 days no carbs? The reason being is I play hockey and on thursday we have games and I would like to have energy for them. Also, could you give this plan a look at and see if I've done anything wrong? I noticed that I'm taking in a lot more protien thani should be and not enough fat.

I weigh 158 and would guess my bodyfat is 17% but it may be lower.

    Low Carb Day

    1000AM breakfast
6 egg whites and 2 egg yolks

    1200PM Lunch
6 slices of chicken and 1 slice of cheese

    200PM Snack
    100% Whey Protien Shake

    300PM Workout

    500PM Postworkout
    100% Whey Protien Shake

    800PM Dinner
    Sirloin Steak
    Salad

Using fitday.com i figuired out that this would be:
    268g - Protien
    12g - Carbs
    79g - Fat
    1897 - Calories

On my high carb day I haven't really planned it out but does that look ok or should the overdose on protien and lack of fat be a concern?

Also on a sidenote is it true that UVA or something rays raise test levels?

    Thanks

You ratios are 56% Protein / 37% fat / 7% Carbs. You carbs are fine but you need to adjust you protein to fat ratio. If you want to consume 1900 calories, take your lean body mass (in pounds) and that is how many grams of protein you should be taking in. The rest should come from fat. It should look more like 30% Protein / 75% Fat / 5 % Carbs.

You would be best suited for a TKD than a CKD. Having 3 HIGH carb days wouldnt do much for fatloss. A TKD basically allows you to have carbs around you workout (or hockey) with no carb ups.

With so much protien your body would use protien as a source of fuel instead of fart

Ya, that's why CKD advocates less than half your calories coming from protein.

Look up "Gluconeogenesis" (I think that's the right spelling) in google

It will show you that protein can get converted to a form of carbs in the absence of carbs and enough fat

    lol..you said fart...
