    Bad rash during exercise?!? Help!

I was curious if anyone knew about this. The past two workouts I've done I have gotten this aweful red rash on my upper legs. The front of my thighs. It's very itchy and seems to only come up when I run or do other cardio!!!
I've got it on my feet too!!! Can anyone explain this to me?

I have no idea what to do, and I feel that if I go to the doctor they're not gonna be able to help with it.

I've not changed any soaps, detergents or anything like that. The only medicine I've taken recently was anti-biotics because I was sick. Could that possibly be it? An allergic reaction to that? But it' only shows up when I run and after the workout!!!

Hopefully someone will know about this!

    Thanks!!!

I also developed a very itchy rash not long ago that i suspect was due to side effects of either the sunless tanning lotions and booth spray or hydroxycut. Could also be due to the astringent cleaner they use on the pads of the leg machines. Are you wearing pants or shorts on leg day?

If it is some sort of contact dermatitis, the regular anti-itch stuff could make it worse. Try an oatmeal bath and antihistamines. If it spreads or continues to be really itchy (I would have to take a shower in the middle of the night mine was so bad), you might have to see a dermatologist for an oral corticosteroid.

    Good luck!

Antibiotics can DEFINATELY do that. If you know which one it was, google it for side effects.

    Thanks!

Hey thanks guys!! I appreciate your posts! I really do think that it's the antibiotics that I was taking because I just read that rashes can develop from the side effects for up to two whole weeks after you QUIT taking the antibiotics!! Isn't that aweful? So, basically... I traded my strep throat for a rash LOL!!! It's extremely annoying. I've been taking benadryl before bedtime so I can sleep w/o itching!!!

    Thanks for the info ya'll!!!

well, i guess that is what was causing it then! congrats!
however, there are a MULTITUDE of things that cause rashes, which can
be exaggerated due to high intensity physical activity.

if curious, check out GOOGLE for

    EXERCISE INDUCED ANAPHYLAXSIS

    best,

    Smile allegies to antibiotics

It's a good idea to take note of the drug that
caused the side effect. That way next time you get sick your Doctor
can prescribe a different drug instead.

Yeah! It was weird but I found out that it was a drug reaction from the amoxicylin (can't spell haha) that I took, eek! They said it remainds in ur system for about 2 weeks after you stop taking it and thats what it was, it quit doing that after about three days!!! So watch out for that drug, eek!
