I worked out my chest on friday and its still pretty sore. Im trying to build size and strength and I was just wondering if stretching would mess with the recovery of the muscle. I dont want to overtrain or anything.

it would most likely aid in recovery. i know that if my chest hurts and i stretch it out it feels better afterward. its suposed to increase blood flow to the area and therefore it removes waste like lactic acid and brings nutrients to the muscle. it wont hurt to stretch. you should be stretching everyday in fact. just dont do static stretches before a workout, do it after. your better off doing dynamic stretches before a workout. save static for after.

IN SHORT: It is good.
stretching not only helps with increased blood flow, it removes lactic acid and will prevent any possible venous pooling.
they feel sore because they have been worked in a certain continual contraction e.g. bench press
So if you can manage to stretch the muscle by moving it in an opposite direction, that's good, it will be stretched and will feel easier to move.
