Colemans lat.. a true injury?

So... this torn muscle charge against Ronnie is something that just happened huh? Is this not genetic in the same way that Jays scrambled abs are? You only see it when Ronnie holds his arms up and it's been there year after year. How is it just now visable now that he lost? What you saw as a more prominant gap was nothing more than the lighting being casted downward on that area of his lat, casting a shadow. His left lat tapers slightly higher towards the center of his back http://img489.imageshack.us/img489/7...ncutlermn5.jpg and it becomes most visable when he raises his arms. Am I the only one who decided to look at older pics of Ronnie to see if it really is an injury? Do people actually make claims without developing ways of proving thier claims? I think so. If you're going to call that an injury then we will have to be equally fair by saying that Cutlers ab muscles are all injured.

It just seemed much more prominant this year.

agreed, it seemed much much more prominant this year. BUT I will agree with the thread starter in that all along I have been saying he did NOT tear his lat. I don't think a lot of people realize that lat tears just do not really happen.
Seems like in may be just some type of chronic nerve thing or something

I've been saying that all along...it's not a muscle tear, it's a nerve issue.

Bad move bud
Your imageshack pic Cutler deffinately has a bigger, sharper, wider, better looking back than Ronnie. Why would you choose that one for your deffense. Jay clearly beats him their!!!

Cutlers back may be wider, but it pales in comparison to Ronnies in terms of muscularity, Ronnie wins by a mile in that pose.

Its been visible since 2002
in the 2001 Olympia he had a perfectly symetrucal back double bi
i doubt its a tear, more so nerve damage that prevents him from properly flexing it in that pose, because as you can see in his rear lat spread, there's nothing wrong w/ the actual tissue

In 06...everyone's praying Ronnie is injured and that he can be beat.
****ing internet rumors. anyway I'm just glad Ron and Dorian are training together in the gym :P

Ronnie did have a back issue that almost required surgery.
He chose not to do it.
Watch Ronnie Coleman's "The Unbelievable" DVD. He's says so himself. The timeline seems to make sense.
That might have something to do with it. It might have caused an asymetry which gradually gets worse if it is not corrected.

it's gotta be a nerve issue then, it almost seems to come and go...which is impossible. if it were a nerve issue, that would explain it...it would periodically prevent bloodflow to the area, giving the appearance of a disappearing and reappearing lat. either way, his back is still incredible.
could have happened during a heavy squat or deadlift
