I am 5'11'' 159lbs 15 years old, like 12% bf
I have been working out for like 1+ years now but not well (I was doing some iso and stuff, didnt relaly know what i was doing)
I started benching and stuff about 3 months ago, but i just started squats like 2 weeks ago and deadlift 1 week ago....
So I did my research and desided to start riptoes starting strength, I started it yesturday, I started bulking 2 days ago at like 2700 calories. (I want a slow clean bulk) Since monday i have gained 1.2lbs!!!!!!!!! which is way more then i was expecting to gain, I am only eating around 150-300 calories above what i would normally eat.
My conclusion is that these must be those "Newby" gains i have been hearing about but i wanted to make sure they arent merely fat gains...
these are my stats
Squat 3x5 50 lbs
Bench 3x5 100 lbs
Deadlift 1x5 40lbs
Dips (assisted -20 lbs) 2x8
pull ups (assisted -20 lbs) 3x6
weigted decline bench abs 3x5 15lbs
havnt done my rows yet or militaries so duno what my stats are on those
so what you think? are these gains good??? REMEMBER I WANTED A SLOW CLEAN BULK WITH MINUMUM FAT GAIN

Well since you started taking in more carbs you probably just retained some water, plus 1.2 lbs isnt enough to know if youve gained solid weight (muscle/fat) or your weight is just flucuating due to water retention, and wether you have **** or piss more or less. Weigh yourself every 2 weeks to get a better estimate. Then once youve done that, divide the total weight gained by how many 2 week intervals you had, and then you have a solid weight to work with, as to adjust your calories too. Remember, only go for 2-4 lb gain every month to keep lean.Sudbury Ontario championships july june 11 2011 - 5th light heavy weight class
