You procrastinate because you think you can derive absolute enjoyment right now to have instant gratification. But you fail to realize that there is in actuality much more pain associated with your action. You must see the truth in this and then you can let procrastination dissolve from your life.
The key is to believe this, not just know it.

The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time
You know that saying...
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step..."
Well to add to it...
"The hardest step that you will ever take will be the first one."
-Paldon
"And after taking that first step, the journey is already half over."

The worst thing to do for procrastination is to keep asking yourself "WHY am I procrastinating?" Consciously or not, the question is a set-up. ANY answer to the question will result in an excuse; a superficial soothing of some sort to help you (for a minute, or two, or five) feel better about the fact that you are putting off what's important to you -- or pretending that something should be important, when it really isn't.
The first rule of procrastination is to make sure that what you're putting off really IS in your self-interest to accomplish. You have to be the judge of this, not anyone else. If the thing you're putting off unquestionably is in your interest, then there's no reason to stay stuck in "why." The second step, once this is established, is to schedule the first hour (or whatever is needed) at the start of your day to get all or part of the procrastinated activity done. It's that hard--and that simple!

To end procrastination, you simply need to GO. Get going...make it happen. MOVE!!!
no really...
Ask yourself WHY are you procrastinating? Do you dread the task at hand? If so, why are you doing it? Do you procrastinate because you think it is just an easy task not worthy of your immediate time? Time is prescious, and there is no moment like the present...live in the present!
Is your procrastination most related to school work?

There is no stopping procrasination, some people just love to work, thats how they gain enjoyment and intellectual satisfaction while some people are procrasinators and gain enjoyment out of thinking and doing other things. I bet all philosophers are huge procrasinators, because their brains are made to think rather than work out ten thousand math problems. Sad thing is our school system is designed for the workers and not for the thinkers, so procrasinators with different intelligences are ****ed. I say fu.ck the school system, **** them all.
