Who do you think would win in a fight a master at kickboxing or taekwondo. I think kickboxing hands down.

Shouldn't really be a question. This is just going to anger Taekwondo people because kickboxing is the obvious choice here.

sigh, what a stupid poll. theres no real answer, as i dont do "styles". anything and anyone can win any fight really. saying something vs something is stupid in fights.
besides, there are many tkd schools that train in many different arts. some train in practical street fighting methods, others train in bull **** olympic stuff.
i WILL NOT accept idiots dissing taekwondo, as 99% of them are kids who have never even trained in it.
kickboxing is an excellent choice also, i would do muay thai, kick boxing, boxing, bjj, tkd etc.Train hard. No pain, no gain!

we are TRULY privialged to be taught many things of this. we learn arm bars, chokes, u name it, we learn all the basics of mma. its only called taekwondo still as we use the patterns still sometimes. and cos he trained in it so long. but yeah, we only actually learn the good parts of tkd and all of the others in relation to fighting and self defense.
of course, if i were to become a real fighter, i would want to do some stand alone mma training, such as bjj and muay thai as well for a few years. ive done this taekwondo for 4+ years myself. id say im fairly well rounded, but ill never go around thinking or saying i can fight, that would only end up getting myself in trouble i couldnt get out of.
guys...u can train in mma, be a master of the best art of what ever lol, it wont help in some street sitations. sure its great still, but rememeber, people usually fight dirty these days. i heard of someone getting his eye cut out with a broken botten recently...discusting. makes me not ever want to have to get into street fights doesnt it? save your skills for only when u HAVE to. and to defend the weak/needey.
if us martial arts guys and mma guys start showing more respect we can stop some stupid fights going on for no reason. dont let your pride get in the way.
anyhow, to be well rounded you need mma. simple. taekwondo is a very good foundation if you choose the right school. rememeber, most masters have been there, done that and want to teach you some decent ****, not flashy rubbish.
heed my words.Train hard. No pain, no gain!

Well, I have trained in tae kwon do. I did it for around a decade growing up. I really liked how it improved my kicks. That's about it. Now I've just started training muay thai and it's SO MUCH better. Anyone from my class would own me in a fight with their experience of muay thai against my tae kwon do skills! Just my 2 cents. Not starting anything. I like what tae kwon do gave to me, but kickboxing is giving me so much more.

The advent of MMA has already given us the undeniable proof of what's practical and what's not.
Muay Thai > TKDIn 1945, Adolf Hilter died and went to Hell. Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" He replied, "I am responsible for the massacre of millions" Satan said, "well done, sit to the right of my throne." In 1953, Joseph Stalin died and went to Hell. Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" He replied "I killed millions to stay in power" Satan said "good, sit to my left" 2010, Ronnie James Dio died and went to Hell, Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" Dio replied, "Bitch, get the fuk off my throne!"

My brother's tae kwon do teacher would wipe the floor with any kickboxing master. Guy bench pressed 400 at 180 lbs in highschool raw. He's got the athleticism of an Edgerin James and hands the size of baseball mits along with speed. His most recent student went over to South Korea and beat their Korean world champion and knocked him down twice.
He was and still is undefeated in competitive sparring in the United States and Korea. He was taught privately and is still appluaded by one of the famous tae kwon do instructors of the entire south korean army, Tae Z.

I and other people have always said, its more about the person and their athleticism and talent behind the style, than the style itself.

There's sport TKD and there's military TKD. You really dont know what your talking about."The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it," said Atlus spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama, calling the recall of the arm spirit arcade machine "a precaution."

So watching one video on youtube makes you an expert... right
All you've seen on youtube are weak sport tkd people.
TKD kicks are the kicks that break stone. Muay Thai kicks are meant to attack the kidneys and legs, in a whiplike fashion. The sidekick in TKD was developed to kick someone off a moving horse in battle."The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it," said Atlus spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama, calling the recall of the arm spirit arcade machine "a precaution."

I think this question is really not fair. You can't compare one system to another. It has nothing to do with it. It's the person that is competing that counts. If the person knows is system well and better the other person then he will win.
One system is not better then the other. Every system has advantage and disadvantage

The answer is more who is better at their art, and luck is always key.

The guys freaking 44 years old now. Like he's gonna enter MMA. He doesn't do it to prove how awesome he is. He trains students now and does it out of a love for the art itself. He's a legend in the world of Tae Kwon Do.
Once again your proving how much of a ignorant dumbass you are Chett. I guess every great fighter should do MMA to make tons and tons of money RIGHT??!!
If Chuck Liddel gets hit in a bad spot one time his careers over. No more money, hope you have training in some other skill chuck so you can make a good living. Not to mention all the other fighters who don't have much money and have families to support
Life isn't all about fighting. You must still be in Highschool or Middle school because you seem to think it is about fighting.
Your a moron who's never trained in any style a day in his life."The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it," said Atlus spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama, calling the recall of the arm spirit arcade machine "a precaution."

and once again, i am going to call bull**** on your little "benched 400 pounds raw at 180 pounds in highschool"
you are the ultimate example of a McDojo master.

Hey Chett how about we fight and put it on youtube for the MMA forum? My systema vs your internet imaginary styles.
Maybe that would shut you up as you know nothing about what your talking about."The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it," said Atlus spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama, calling the recall of the arm spirit arcade machine "a precaution."
