Powertec questions
I am 98% sure I am going to buy the powertec rack system for $700bucks
what else do I need?
The utilty bench from powertec ...does it lean back so you can do declines/abs on it?
If I get the system, utilty bench & some olympic weights + bar am I good to go? any other equipment you suggest?
Which site to buy it from? BB.com or dumbell buddy or other ??
Thanks

Yeah, that's all you need. Many others here have done the same thing(rack, bench, weights), and a lot of people reccommend it as the way to go to train at home. The bench will do incline/flat/decline, and if you get the leg attachment, it will lock in place to do ab work.
I'll be picking up a Powertec bench within the next couple weeks, then getting the rack and an oympic set closer to christmas.
EDIT: As for ordering online, I don't really know, I'll be buying my stuff locally, but I haven't heard a negative thing from people who ordered from the bodybuilding.com online store.

all you need is the rack, bench and a barbell with weights and you're set.
i bought a pair of olympic dumbbell handles, and haven't used them yet, i find using the barbell much more efficient

You might also want to consider finding the best price online and then seeing if your local dealers will match it (particularly since sometimes dealers have low prices online because they overcharge in shipping). I like the local support, you can often pick it up right there, and sometimes they'll throw in a few extras (like a tricep rope for us).

Have you called Powertec sales for a local dealer?
http://www.powertecfitness.com/dealer.htm
Or just call 800-250-6665.
You've got to call because they don't have ANY online list (which is really unbelievable in this day an age - it would take all of 2-3 hours to put them online).
I live in Southern California and went to about a dozen fitness shops and NEVER saw Powertec until I called them. In fact, I'd never heard of them before these boards because there not in many gyms or stores. Turns out there's quite a few stores, although mostly about 60-90 minutes away.

The max is 52.5 lbs. Don't waste your time with them, they're limited and overpriced. Ironmasters and Powerblocks are much better choices.
