Im not entirely sure but I would say a modified most muscular pose is the oldest pose. Even guys like Harold Poole (sp) and guys from that era were doing some type of version of it. Front double biceps would be next id imagine.
My personal favorite is the twisting side chest like Arnold did. This pose shows off the chest to waist ratio, deltoid detail, arm size and detail, hamstrong/quad seperation, calves, etc.
The back double biceps would be my second favorite especially Dorians and Wheelers. This pose shows off the entire posterior and I like it even better when there is great calves to compliment it.

I voted for back double bi, but it would really depend on the pro for which pose i like the best.
Markus Ruhl- Front lat spread, Most muscular
Ronnie Coleman (2003)- back double bicep
Lee preist- Victory pose
Dorian Yates- Back lat spread
Branch Warren- traditional most muscular

Wheelers back doulble bi is my fav.I prefer poses that show the most detail as opposed to power poses like rear lat spread.

My fave is probably back biceps for the detail, but it depends on the physique
Side abs poses are usually awesome, Levrone doing it especially

My favorite pose all time.....
Got to be Frank Zane's supine above head double forearm pose, shows forearms, biceps, serratus and abs at once. I love classic posing
....second one would be Arnold's side double biceps showing the sheer mass of his biceps from both inside and outside of arms at once.
Now for compulsories....I like the front lat spread, showing the true symmetry and definition of the front at once with thighs.

You could add Steve Reeves to that list, I'm not certain but I do believe he made the victory pose popular ... btw, that's my favorite pose too!

Love
It can move one's heart to see a young couple romantically enthralled with each other. But the heart becomes deeply sad just a few months later - to see their paralyzing dependence on one another.
The more intense has been the religion of any period and the more profound has been the dogmatic belief, the greater has been the cruelty and the worse has been the state of affairs

Im a back double bicep fan, but love the lat spread too. But I have to say the ab thigh pose seems to be making a comeback. The judges look at that pose, they want the x frame. That pose makes guys like victor, dennis, dexter, and phil top contenders.

I personally now believe the side chest is the best pose
It shows off the greatest amount of a persons physique at one time. It shows conditioning via possible intercostal appearence (check out Levrones famour side chest). If a person has the right structure and hits the pose right it can show lats as well. It also shows the deltoid conditioning well as well as the midsection to upper body ratio. This is prolly why now a days the pose isnt as popular, because most guys with bloated waists dont look very good in it so they alll want to hit the back poses..

Back double bi, about 1 year ago one of my buddies from another forum posted his, and to this day Its the only bb pose I wanna recreate.
Something about it just says "yeah I workout sometimes."
I dunno, to someone with no familiarity with BB it would be almost surreal I figure, seeing so many muscles they didnt even know exsisted and all.
