Juice Fasting
Tonight my friend and I started juice fasting. We plan on doing this until next Saturday, where we will be able to eat a normal dinner.
I am a pretty strong kid, but honestly I am just sick of being fat. I can lift more than my 18 year old brother (I'm 15) and I am fine with my strength, but my body still looks terrible. At 6'2 206 lbs. I'm not looking very good.
We plan on drinking only water, apple juice, pas-o-guava juice, orange juice and green tea for every meal, occasionaly having carrots, lettuce or celery at some some meals.
Last year I got really really sick and I ended up not eating during that period. Well, after that 4 or 5 day span, I noticed I wasn't hungry at all...ever. I went another 3 or so days without eating and I just wasn't hungry. I checked my weight and it had dropped a tremendous amount. I got scared so I forced my self to start eating again, and eventually everything evened out.
I know that I will most likely lose a lot of muscle mass, but I am pretty much desperate right now. I will do whatever I can do become slim, even if I have to start lifting at a lower rate and rebuild my muscles.
Has anyone had any experience fasting? Any questions? Comments?

Your going all the way until next Saturday? I think that is a too long of a span to fast. I think three or four days should be a limit on that. Your body needs plenty of nutrients and minerals from a wide range of foods and even though veggie drinks and fruit drinks have that you still need more in any given day.
If you do this for that long you will probably have little or no energy to do practically anything just drinking liquid fruit and vegetables.
If you really want to do this try starting out with just a couple days and see how your energy is.

that may be so but they find it very hard and have very little energy. I have an indian friend who passed out several times when we used to go to school, and she said it was a really hard time. If you're not doing it for religious reasons and are just doing it for the sake of it then it's a very very bad idea.

No, Muslims they eat as much as they want as long as the sun is down during Ramadan. There's ton of Muslims on these forums who do very successful bulks during Ramadan.

Exactly. My best friend is Muslim.
He wakes up and eat around 4 or 5 in the morning before prayer time and sun comes up.. Than it after the sun comes down, after 6 or 7. So they don't go a whole 30 days without eating....
They can spend the whole night eating if they want

bump^^ you may lose the weight quickly, but wait until you start eating normally agian, it will go straight back on and you'll probably add more fat in the long run if you keep doing this because you're going to put your metabolism into a severe caloric deficit thus slowing it down. You cells will not be able to maintain healthy functioning, thus slowing all the metabolic actions in your body, thus slowing fat loss. So in three words...VERY BAD IDEA.

Poo.
I have been trying so hard to lose weight and it's just not working. I have sports practice every day from 3:40-5:15, and I'm lifting regularly.
I eat a bowl of some kind of raisin crunch cereal with skim milk every morning. I have it with a glass of water. For lunch I have a small tray of California Rolls, I think about 7 peices, along with two glasses of water. For dinner I have a helping of whatever the school gives me; along with a glass of water, and a split of apple juice/carbonated water. After dinner I have a glass of green tea.
Why is this not working? I am so bummed!

From what I can see, it's much the same reason as to why I could not lose in high school; your diet is not what it should be.
Pretty much in school you eat what you can considering it's lame to bring your own lunch and what not, but when it comes down to it, the smart choice would be to bring your own food so you can be eating what you need to be.

DOnt doit, you will put on the weight and more fast.
read this thread
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hlight=fasting
and look at the opinions expressed at it. We dont support this, and seriously, its not safe, you do this, and then you will be doing more crazy things to lose weight unsucessfully.
For me, slow and steady did it, look at my pics, and tell me that it didnt work
(The reason you were not hungry is becuase your body went into starvation and turned off your digestive system.)
You are probably not eating enough calories, thats why you are not losing weight, or fat as we do it. Try this, for one or two weeks eat around your maintence cals. Meanwhile plan a diet plan that you can keep which is 500 caloeires below maintence, from there just modifiy it so youre lose about 1.5 pounds a week.

How about this,
You not eating NEARLY enough. Your body has switched into "survival" mode because your not getting ANY calories.
To lose more weight, you need to eat MORE.

I don't see how you expect to improve how you look by only drinking juice but you seem to be the type who has to learn on their own. We'll still be around when you're ready to work hard to get a body that looks like it took hard work to get.

wtf is the point of juice fasting? whoever thought it up in the first place should have their graves desecrated.
why not pop a multi and eat sugar with a spoon instead? its the exact same thing; and as a bonus you can switch it up to brown sugar for more flavor.

Perhaps you should consider dieting the right way if you say you will do anything to lose weight. Fasting is a dumb way to do it.
