Keep in mind that potatoes can vary very widely on the glycemic index, depending on where they were grown and how they are cooked. They can range from 50-60 to 100+.
Because of this, you probably shouldn't make them a staple of your diet. That's not to say you can't have them; just don't have them every day.

^ What he said. Also, look into yams and sweet potatos. They are tasty and low GI. As for the sodium, it isn't really bad, but... I've noticed that sodium causes me to gain a lot of water weight that takes a whole day or more to drain. I weigh myself every morning and I've noticed that my weight will go up as much as 4 pounds (about 2% of my total weight ) if I had sushi and soy sauce the night before. I have about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce when I eat sushi. Even low sodium soy sauce has a lot of sodium.
So sodium isn't really bad, but you need to understand that it will cause your body to hold onto water.

When cutting, skip the gatorade. If you use egg beaters, then you can have them scrambled. If you boil them, then you can remove the yolk. Remember that the yellow part of a natural egg contains the fat and SOME protein. If you remove the yellow, then you can prepeare it however you want... as long as you don't add oil or butter or other fats to the mix. Sometimes, I recommend having the yolk too, but make sure the rest of the meal is very low in fat, cause that yolk alone will have a large impact on your Macros.

Lemon is OK for taste, but like other fruits, it contains Fructose and calories. The acid is also bad for your teeth, but I doubt that you will be puting enough lemon in your water for any of this to matter . There is such a thing as too much water, but I doubt you will have that much. I've read that a person loses about .5 ounces of water, per pound, daily. For me, that is about 13 cups (108 oz.). So, you should make it a goal to replenish that water and any additional water you might have lost due to caffeine, thermogenics, or working out.
I used to measure my water intake on fitday.com. Combining my thermogenic use, work outs, and basic daily water loss, I found myself able to comfortably go through about 23 cups of water per day.

You've made over 200 posts in this forum and you don't know what that means?
You will need to search the article database for more info, but basicaly, your macros are the percentages of the calories you eat and where they come from. When people talk about " 20% of their daily calories come from fats, 40% come from protein, and 40% come from Carbs", they are describing their macro nutrint percentages. Micro nutrients are the vitamins and minerals contained in your food. Macro nutriends are fats, carbs protein, and alcohol.

if you have nothing against eating carbs, potatoes are good. Obviously not by themselves, but combine them with protein and good fats and you have a good meal

carbs are not bad!!!! Complex carbs are an excellent sourceof fuel for your body and they thus enable your muscle glycogen stores to supply the energy needed for muscle contraction. Combining fat+ protein+ carb is an excellent meal. Unless you are carb sensitive you don't need to stay away from them. Do some research on here coz there are a lot of threads about why carbs are not bad. Carbs do not hinder your fat loss unless you are getting in only simple carbs and not combining them with fat+ protein.

Try visiting the nutrition section and reading up on nutrition a little.
I'm kind of wondering what you HAVE been reading, since you seem to lack a really basic understanding of nutrition... but that's where you need to go.

I'm going to chime in here. If you want to eat eggs look into getting BROWN eggs. Yes that is right, brown eggs, not white eggs. There is a huge difference in terms of which is better for you, and brown eggs are much healthier then white and there isn't much of a difference in taste.
White eggs come from chickens, and brown eggs come from a hen. Two different birds and two different eggs.
The brown eggs I eat only have 4grams of fat and about 6grams of protein with only 70 cals, ya only 70cals.
So check out some brown eggs if you happen to see them in your grocery store.

I eat potatoes everyday (well, fresh potato hashbrowns - same thing). No problems losing weight (well, not because of the potatoes anyway).
