Reverse hyper is for your lower back. Leg curl is for your hamstrings.

For reverse hypers, the joint of rotation is the lower back/hips. On leg curls, the joint of rotation is the knee.

NOthing that works as well, according to the Westside guys, but there are always replacements:
Pullthroughs
Back extensions
etc.

Basically you are laying on a machine with a weighted pendulum over it. You move the weight by moving your legs. It works the lower back. Do a search, pics have been posted many times. Also go to www.elitefts.com and look in the exercise directory, or the Ball State Website.

Went to the search index looked at the picture and read the description and I still don't get it, do I need a special machine or can I do it with my ordinary bench?

There is a special machine for it. However, it can be done by just laying a 2x12 board across the safety pins on the power rack. You lay on that, with your legs hanging down. Then, you swing your legs up so your body is straight.
