Let the competition begins

I am happy to announce that the Fall fat Loss competition is officially on. So far we have 7 judges and 64 contestants. Still can’t believe it myself but it is happening.

This is the official thread for the Fall Fat Loss competition. This thread should only be used to post your measurements, weight and pictures and some comments from the judges.

This thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=911920 remain the community thread where we all can exchange ideas, opinions and help each other. Every thing goes in this thread.

I hope we can all enjoyed this competition and hang in there till the end. Let’s make this the stepping stone toward our goal, our change in lifestyle, the beginning to it all. Our judges are more than happy to help us and give us advice, and we can feel free to contact them at any time….

And to finish I want to leave you with those to final quotes

Quitting is a habit, same as winning and losing. The second two happen to everyone. The first one should never happen to anyone.

Lead by example. Never became someone you aren’t proud of.

We don’t have many rules or regulations. The one we have are few and simple
The first thread as noted before: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=911920 shall remain the official thread for exchange of opinions, ideas, are just to rant. Go there and let us know your problem, the issues that you are facing and how we might help. The judge and us participant will be more than happy to.

This thread is to be only use to post measurements, pictures, and size. The time to post them in is first week of October, November, December and finally January.

The Judges are responsible to decide whom is the final winner of this contest and they will let us know in due time what will their decision is based on.

They will declare the results by January 15 , but if we all keep at this, we will all be winners.

Final and most important rule : We are accountable for our progress and failure. We have the final power to decide if we are going to succeed or not. So let make this work and let us all be there at the final week, January 1st.

I believe that we have the best panel of Judges that we can ask for. Their knowledge in fat loss can equal or surpass any personal trainer or professional athlete. I recommend that we use everything that they have to offer because after all it is free, and nothing beats free

The following message is in regards to the pictures!!!

Judges Announcement
On behalf of the judges, I post the following rules and regulations to assist us in judging the overall winners.
The initial reaction to these may cause fear and concern, and may cause you to want to opt out.
Please keep in mind, that these are as much for you as they are for us. Keeping pictures and measurements of yourself are extremely gratifying, important tools; We believe you'll thank us for insisting you adhere to this.

Photo poses:
The following poses are mandatory (links shown for example):
- Front (relaxed)
- Rear (relaxed)
- Side (relaxed whichever side is your 'better' side)
The following poses are optional (links shown for example). These may help demonstrate further your improvements:
- Front Double Bicep (flexed)
- Rear Double Bicep (flexed)
- Side Chest (flexed)

Photo requirements:
- The above listing poses must be submitted
--- At the start of the comp
--- Midway through the comp
--- At the end of the comp
- Minimum 320 pixels in height (so we can see what we're judging)
- Photos to be taken of full body (face is optional, and can be blurred if the individual prefers)
- For your own reference and ours, it's best if the same clothing is worn in all photos
- This is a neat free program that helps you resize your pictures quickly and easily

Measurements:
Some of you may have come to realise that the scale is not always your best friend. For this reason, we as judges have made the following girth measurements mandatory.
For your own tracking, you can do this once a week, but we need these done at least in conjuction with the minimum photo timeframes.
Note: Height is unlikely to change much, but is kept there so that you may use your measurements at any stage to calculate your bodyfat using the USNavy method.
The locations for men:
* Abdomen: Horizontal at the level of the navel. This is not the minimal width.
* Neck: Inferior to the larynx with the tape sloping slightly downward to the front.
* Height: Is measured without shoes. (most of you know this already)

The locations for women:
* Abdomen: Horizontal, at the level of minimal abdominal width.
* Hip: Largest horizontal circumference around the hips.
* Neck: Inferior to the larynx with the tape sloping slightly downward to the front.
* Height: Is measured without shoes. (most of you know this already)

Weight:
Finally, comes your weight. We ask that you provide a weight at the same time as your photos

Summary:
Just to summarise, here is what we request at the start, the middle and the end of the comp (as a minimum)
- Front (relaxed)
- Rear (relaxed)
- Side (relaxed whichever side is your 'better' side)
- Abdomen measurement
- Neck Measurement
- Height Measurement (most of you already know this and needn't do it every time)
- Hip Measurement (women only)
- Weight (in lbs)

How you will be judged for a winner:
To make things as fair as possible, one of the criterion for picking a winner will be improvement in the waist.
As some contestants are larger than others, this may prove to be an advantage. For this reason, the improvement of weight and measurements are taken on percentages rather than face value.
This way it's fairer to all.

Remember..
This is a fat loss/transformation contest so we're looking for those who have successfully transformed their bodies.
Most of all, although the competitive spirit will bring out the best in everyone, this is ultimately for fun and health.

Goals during this competition: 15-17% bodyfat, in the 200-210 lbs range.
