yes. supplements are used for those who can eat enough or need the extra protein. the rule is intake at least 1-1.5 grams of protein of your body weight. If you weight 170 the least you should be consuming is 170 grams. To get bigger it takes time to grow.

Yes it is possible. I take supplements for maybe two months in an entire year and I'm still adding considerable mass. It just takes alot of time and proper training.

Yes! My dad (now 70 years old) worked out in the 1950s and 1960s with no supps whatsoever... He had a 48 inch Chest, 20 1/2 inch Arms, I cant remember the rest... He Benched 428 pounds for 3 Reps, Deadlifted in the 600s and Squatted in the 450s and all they used was Olympic Style Weights (55 pound Bar, 50s instead of 45s, etc.)... He had a heart attack in 1998 (Went from 235 pounds down to 190 in weeks) and now he is still pretty cut and even though he has lost alot of his mass, he is cut for not working out in decades... He is still pretty strong too... He told me he worked out 7 years and didnt get past 350 until his 5th year of working out... Hope this provides some insight!
Glen... 5'10... 210 pounds
Bench Press- 255 pounds... Working to 315.
Squat- 335 pounds... Working to 375.
Deadlift- 375 pounds... Working to 405.
Cutting Down To 200... NHRA Super Gas
