Tylanol P.M. ???????
WELL I am not sure this is the right place for this thread but it is as close to right as I could get. Ok I started working out in Aug and things have been going great I am right on track of where I wanted to be. I have to tighten diet a little still and am adding cardio starting this week but here is my problem. I have been somwhat sedentary for the last few years and since I started working out I can't sleep for more then 5 or 6 hours. I do use red line before a workout but I work ouot earily in the day and this problem started before I started taking the supp.
I have no prob falling asleep it is just staying asleep I am up 3 4 times a night to go to the bathroom ( water intake ) I am ok with that I can go back to sleep but if I wake up after 5 or 6 hours of sleep I can not get back to sleep. I also feel better ( more energy during the day) but I have read that I need a lot more sleep. I am thinking of trying a sleep aid is there any health or training reasons not to and if not what one should I use I am looking at Tylanol P.M. just cause I seen it and had this thought.
Help

the problem with tylenol PM is the acetaminaphen, and using said product everyday can lead to some serious liver problems and eventually liver failure.

OP I see you're using both caps and RTD's of Redline.. are they Canadian versions (without yohimbine)? If not be very careful monitoring your blood pressure
almost forgot... good luck!

um, I tend to disagree.
Taking 325-650mg daily is fine, considering the recommended maximum daily dose is 4000 mg.
if that is a concern, just take 25-50 mg diphenhydramine, but it is really not recommended you do this for more than a couple weeks.
I wouldn't take diphenhydramine if you are waking up so often during the night to urinate, especially since you don't have a problem falling asleep. some people feel groggy and confused after waking up.
some people don't need that much sleep. some people can function fine on 5-6 hours. it is not insomnia you are describing. if it is adversely affecting your life, job, etc, you need to see a doctor.
maybe you have sleep apnea? do you have any underlying medical conditions?
good luck.

I would suggest trying melatonin or GABA. Both work very well for me when I am really stressed out about a test and need to get some sleep.

When I broke my ankle when I was younger I got seriously hooked on that stuff.
I became dependent and had to keep upping the dose.
Try ZMA or melatonin if you want to sleep better.

I understand there are some natural/herbal products that can help you relax/sleep. Maybe talk to an herbalist or if you have an herbal pharmacy around your neck of the woods you could check it out. My wife uses the PM on occasion but only once in a while so I can't offer any advice on that. I sleep about 6-8 hours per day and any more I get lazy. Although when I do a heavy squat day, my body craves more sleep, I can really feel it, so I usually take a 30 min to 1 hr nap after work the next day, and BTW, I usually take the day after my heaviest weekly workout off.
Good luck with the sleep issue as well as reaching your goal!

Some ZMA products also have valarian root which is also a sleep aid. It knocks me out pretty good. My problem is If I take anything everyday (or night) it eventually stops working. Your body could just need some time to adjust to your new lifestyle?
