I think Judo's training methods might be able to improve your appearance. Why?

Judo is a sport martial designed for grapling your opisition with thier Gi's and taking them down to a pin to or subimision. Yes it has the self defence aspect with it to use your opponet's wieght against them to throw them to the ground, provided their wearing Gi like clothing, but for improving your body, id go with Muy Thai or a boxing gym or such. Judo training is as intense as the head of the school makes it, which can be a push over or extremely intense. If you can find a brizalian ju-jitsu school that competes in the octagon, id go for that. Their training is usually pretty intense and fun!

Not if you land on your face.

If you refer to a fighter who you've never met in real life as "my boy" as though their performance somehow reflects well on you for simply being a fan, you're a lame ass.

lol, or if you are slammed and break your rib cage and have to wear a body cast...
IMO whoever said Brazillian Jui-Juitsu is right, thats much better because it focuses on takedowns, submissions, and overall dominating your oponent. Judo is more like wrestling (greco-roman style) or russian sambo because its more about take downs and throwing/slamming your oponent to the mat...

i would imagine the throws in judo would be as or more useful in a real fight.

i didnt say that. he wants appearance... not to f*ck someone up... and Judo and Jui-Jitsu are closely related, and effectiveness comes from mostly you as an individual and not entirely from the martial art...
i know what you mean though, obviously sumo wrestling isnt going to help you if some crazy drunk throws a puch at you, but having any kind of submission martial art training (sambo, wrestling, and especially jui-jitsu and judo).

Like i said earlier, Judo throws focus more around getting your opposition off balance and then using it against them, and more often than not your using the Gi to get them off balance. Needless to say, people dont often walk around wearing Gis or clothing resembling Gis, except for coats perhaps.
Personal experience from grappling Judo students, if you take off your shirt and they have no clue what they can do to stop you.
Brizalin Jiu-Jitsu has more than its varity of throws that are designed to put you straight into a submission if you hit it correctly, and they focus more on setting with arm bars, leg bars and chokes.
Personal experience from this is I'll be recieving my purple belt in BJJ within a few months here soon. My sister on the other hand is a black belt in Judo which is where i get most of my information on it.

Judo does have some groundwork and submissions, but not to the extent of BJJ. Particularly, there are no leglocks in traditional Judo.
