I'm 19 years old and I'll turn 20 in July. My whole life I've been really slim. I've never been able to get over 145 pounds no matter what. I've tried to consume lots of foods and supplements about two years ago and nothing seemed to work so I just gave up. But now I'm back and ready to give it another go. I'm just not sure exactly what to eat. As far as workouts go I plan on just working everything out 5 days a week. I know people say it's better to focus only two parts of your body a time but that doesn't feel like it does anything for me. I like to just do upper body Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then lower body Tuesday and Thursday. But as far as diet goes how much do I need to eat a day to for sure see gains quick? I'm more on the poor side so cheaper foods would be more my way. I've always heard PB&J's but what are other cheap foods that'll put muscle mass and weight on me? I'm trying to get to about 180-195 pounds. So that's about 40-50 pounds I need to gain. So if anyone could give me any tips on diet or workouts that would be great. I AM SO TIRED OF BEING SMALL! thanks everyone! Oh I'm about 6 foot if that matters any too!

Any food will put weight on you if you eat enough. Cheap foods: rice + beans, chicken thighs, potatoes/sweet potatoes, oatmeal, bananas,

I'd start with 2800 calories a day. Weigh yourself every day and take a rolling average. If you don't gain any weight, add 100-200 cals and do it again.
