Smile up weight

I guess this is a basic question but i havent been able to find the answer anywhere. The question is when should a person be able to move up in weight say on a flat bench press? what is a basic time frame, and should i push myself to move the weight up. i dont want to risk injury. is there a time frame that you stay at a certain weight? looking foward to getting some feedback on this. and thanks to all that post.

It depends on your level of experience with lifting... since you are asking this question I think it is safe to assume you probably could add weight to the bar every time or every other time.

Its hard to say without knowing what you are doing... maybe add 5-10lbs on your big lifts every week and 5lbs every other week to the supporting lifts? You should be getting to the point where you know what you can handle.
