Little to no progress on Rippetoes now, time for a change?

Well I've significantly increased my lifts on Rippetoes 3x5:

bp: 110 x 5 --> 155 x 5
p rows: 80 x 5 --> 135 x 5
squat: 125 x 5 --> 185 x 5
deadlift: 190 x 5 ---> 275 x 5

But I can't seem to progress anymore on Rippetoes program. I've tried dealoading, resting, higher reps for 1 week, etc... What type of program would be the next step? I'm looking for a good non-linear progression program focused equally on strength and hypertrophy. THanks for responses.

Edit - Also, the continued workouts of attempted to set prs on squats, rows and deadlifts has really left my lower back sore/overtrained so that's another reason why I need something non-linear/periodized.

How long have you been doing SS?

You could move all your weights back 3-4 weeks, and go from there. Probably allow you to pass your current maxes and set new PRs at least for a while. Plus the lower weights would give your joints and your back a bit of recuperative time.

Or you could move to the intermediate 5x5, working toward your current 5RM's at 4 weeks in. There you only set PR's once per week, not every workout.

Maybe a cycle of HST (the 15's would give you plenty of healing time), then SS again or 5x5? HST is more for hypertrophy than strength, but many report decent strength gains when they get to the 5 rep weeks.

Lots of options.

I posted a long piece on the same topic in #4 here. Give the thread a read: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=909229. Not saying you have to do one thing or another but there are some ideas and context for you. Obviously, you will stall and have to change things and stalling is harder than smooth easy sailing so you'll have to reset back a bit maybe even add a bit of extra rest if you are particularly beat up.
