If u have a tattoo...and then u start bb.,...doesnt the tatto strecth as u grow? does it get ruined?

I've got one across my back and I made sure to ask the artist if I ever decided to get into weight lifting if it would stretch out. He told me I couldn't possibly get big enough for it to affect the tattoo. I was about 100 lbs lighter then and it hasn't stretched out or been ruined in any way. I have noticed that it's more centered and straight lined as opposed arched and wide like it used to be.
