get some raw oats, grind them in coffee grinder or blender. store them in old protein container, then add about as much as you need to meet caloric needs. add them to your protein shakes, better then a manufactured gainer IMO. my shakes are 2 scoops ON whey, 2 cups of 1% milk and 1/2 cup of oats and they are about 600 cal and 75ish grams of protein.

My home-made weight gainer...(actually about to make one in about 30 secs ):
Honey
Steel-cut Oats
Whey
Whole Milk
PB
Cottage Cheese
Banana
Mix it in random amounts everytime, some are better than others. One of these days I swear I'll write down what amounts make the best tasting one :P
Obviously I agree though sometimes a weight gainer is more ideal, so naturally I have 3 tubs of Real Gains always ready for consumption. My favorite part about these is that they don't really make you 'full' after taking a full serving in 2-3 cups of milk. IF you really can't stand the oats you could try out Palatinose or rice oligodextrin to mix in for your carbs.
If you insist on buying a Weight gainer:
Cytogainer (Tastes pretty good)
True Mass ( Gets good reviews from ppl at my work (vitamin world))
Mass Meal (A favorite around these boards)
