###Vik's Journey:From Obese to Lean###

Couldn't think of anything more creative :P.
Anyways this first one is just some background so feel free to skip over.

Let's see, it all started around July of last year. I was weightin 250 pounds, and my 44 size pants were getting too small. I got my wisdom tooth removed and then my journey began. Seriously now, my diet for about 2 month was ice-cream, publix cream soup and water. ofcourse the only reason i did this was because they were the only thing i thought i could eat at that time. Eventually I ate solids again, but i noticed something, my 44 pants fit again!. I started getting some compliments of the people I worked with, and i decided to weight myself (something I never did) and after much suspence i found out i lost 8 pounds. I was like WOW!!. From there it was all a moderate diet i made up as time passed(which included 1 can of Pepsi daily to my amazement). Evetually i got to 180 (April 06) I decided it was time to inform myself on what to do now becuase I had no muscle. After reading some basic bodybuilding books, I got an idea of some basic exercises to do. While i didnt loose anymore weight like i wanted to, i dropped from size 40 to 36, and then to 34 without losing more than 5 pounds. then came the traumatic nose job i needed since i was child (i had a broken nose from a fight and couldn't breath through one side of my nose) and i was forced out of the gym for 2 months. I lost about 10 pounds in that time, but when i got back to the gym (1 month ago) i was as weak as when I started. This last month i regained my strength and finished the going back to gym period. I can once again see the little muscle i have.

boring part is over!
So now im picking up where i left off. Im currently around 5' 9" 170-173 @ 21% body fat. Im want to, excuse me, im going to drop to 10% b.f. I apreaciate all your guys, and girls, help and I'm proud to be part of this forum seeing many successes such as JaeGee's.

First update!

We'll I forgot to put my medical history. Thank God nothing! No diabetes (which runs in my Family), no nothing. I checked with 3 different doctors and got 3 different labs done with different people and everything came out negative. If anything I have gotten lots of props from my doctors and awesome results with blood work.
Everyother Friday im getting a physical @ my college (because I have a 3 hr break from the time im done at the gym till my first class) and these were this fridays results
21% bf.
Excellente Heart and VO2 (which Im amazed at, im thinking probably mistake)
Below Average in Streching. (big bummer but not a surprise)

My training is split at M/W/F Cardio HIIT in the morning after a protein shake. And low cardio in the afternoon, its usually just some Capoeira,except maybe Wednesdays.
T/Th/S its Arms chest/ legs shoulders/ and abs with cardio. in that order. T/W/Th some more intense Capoeira.

Eatin:
5am A Protein shake w/ some glutamin on water. Plus vitamins
6am Cardio (usually 20 mins)
8am Some meat or fish with bread and protein with glutamin and milk
11am Usually some protein bar.
11.10 Capoerira on its days
2pm or 3pm Usually something a bit heavier and filling. Meat with potatos, or meat and a big salad.
5pm Light Cardio followed by either a sandwhich, or cereal.
8pm a shake or a meal depending on the previous meals and then off 2 bed.

As you can see my diet is a mess right now. THERE is where I need most help. Those are the times i can usually eat bcuz im in college. Now lemme c if i can find those current pixs...

Edit: Ofcourse lots of water ALL day.

yell this week has been awesome. a small depression on wednesday bcuz i couldnt get the capoeria moves rght, but a awesome rest of the week. i heart HIIT, it has to be the funnest way to do cardio. im gettin my b.f recheck on friday. on a sad note, i burned the tip 3 of my fingers makin dessert for next week. the happy note is that now i dont leave fingerprints
oh well people, wish me luck for next week.

well my fingertips now have the looks of the plate i burned myslef with, but not too much pain. the dessert on the other hand is just sinful. 2day should be a cheat day, so maybe some chinesse to boost up those carbs.

So for some reason i decided to have a cheat day 2day. And from now on only carb cycling for me, i cant stand the guilt. So to recuperate from this huge influx i had (last time i also make cheese cake, its too good to not be aten all at once) im making a small wager against myself. im basically betting myself that i cant go eatin healthy all week long without screwin up in my diet (ex. skippin meals) this should b enought to encourage myself. bye bye cheat meals n hello cyclic carbing

please man don't sabotage your own success, I also love cheese cake......but man you are only hurtin' yourself.....this is why I love de keto diet for some reason It kills your sweet tooth....or at least diminish it....try harder!!!

hehe, i know , i know. I cant do Keto for now, for some reason Keto thus destroys my mind. Instead im switching to carb cycling.

speakin of funny things, i have 2 things to mention. 1st im gonna buy calipers, the electric resistance test fails me. I got 21% 2 weeks ago, today i got 11% and 5 mins after i get 15%.
Second, I still owe you guys my current pictures. I only have the old ones from June, but thats before I had a 2 month medical rest, and i just ate rght now so i look bloated. I'll try to get them 2morrow.

Talk about a HUGE mistake. I just noticed i based my diet on my BMR and not my maintence cals. No wonder everyone else had like 2000 while i only had 1400.

So i got another physical done, but this time with a more expirienced person. While my cardiovascular has once again improved, and my streching as also improved a little bit, According to the test i gain 2% bf, 2 pounds, and havent improved in my bicep strength.
But on better news im finally pickin up myself from the dirt, and it shouldnt be thought to get back on track after one more week of friggin test. Thus far i picked a new workout (Max-OT) and have designed a moderate clean bulking diet.

Otherwise, been good this week, monday hectic, and today i injured my left knee (again) while practicing capoeira. Good news, i can play a tad better, bad news: im tired and my dad thinks i drive too much with the car

So today i went out on sugar and carbs, my poor brain needed it. I probably managed to get in some 3500 cals, so thats gonna keep me up. Otherwise, not much to report, my left knee got messed up again, im betting on a ligament problem. AND AGAIN just now, it hurts!!!

Technically its not the end of the world. The doctor told me to cool off in any activity straining my legs, (capoeira, running, biking). Seemed like the end of the world for a while. I guess for now ill have to do the eliptical and swimming for cardio. Im still totally bummed about the indefenity on capoeira...

Well im back!!! I took the last half of last week off due to my knee injure (i couldnt put force on it, nor could it risk it bcuz of my capoeira initiation). And i took 5 days off my diet to enjoy my uncles visting. Well to say it the nice way, alot of water weight gained .
I had a nice batizado for capoeira, but right now i want to focus on getting back to cutting and setting my cardio straight. On sunday i noticed my cardiovascular dropped, but many factor could have played in(lack of good nutrition on 4 days prior, or running with food 4 hrs before, or just my knee).

Needless to say tomorrow im back to full training and gradually putting back my cardio. Diet is going bakc tomorrow also. Hopefully by the end of this week or next i will have some good progress to post, i aint weightin or measuring this week needless to say.

Out of fairness, the main reason i got so far from my well maintent eating habits include the following
1) Stress due to knee injury
2) Due to Calc and Chemistry Test
3) Capoeira Graduation
4) Family Visiting

I figured, screw it. I need extra calcs to get my brain to 100% potential, i aint risking my grades for nothing. The batizado was awesome, but i have to find the vids to show them, my last performace sucked thouhgt

Ofcourse i know its for life. I have no problem with living it out day to day, its just the stress that gets me over. With today being halloween, there was a lot of candy around. Not much problem there, but i still need to work up to my diet and cardiovascular again

Otherwise good day, im getting better at a capoeira trick, and im learning to control my body throughout weird kicks and combos

hey man, Im kind of in the same route you are, are you on any special diet? If so do you mind linking me on it. Also can you tell me how you work out a day, what muscle groups. cardio if any? Your calorie intake do you keep track? And any supplements?

No special diet, just eat whats avaible. Workout was Max-OT, i saw improvement with it but i might be switching out(i finished it) cardio, capoeira, running, or the eliptical when my knee messes up. Supps, multi vits, and whey. Im still conflited about NOexplode, i didnt notice i difference until i stopped taking it, but then again alot happened at the same time.

shall I say that I might be back? hey people, im back. Been away cornered up with some emotional issues plus living alone for a few months. Haven't left the gym, but I did start bulking and cutting almost everyother week. Pixs r up probably next week, right now I have some nasty sunburns and i dont want pictures to remember those.

Glad to see you back victor. I ran across an old thread and saw a post fromyou and wondered where you had been.

Keep up the reports in your journal. In that other thread, you said you did a bulk and cut since before, so you are cutting now?

Yes, i gained about 20 pounds since my last few post, but my body fat was 14.6% last i measured about 3 weeks ago. Tomorrow im measuring again.
