my neck is just too muscley. make it go away!!
One of my main goals is to get my arms and shoulders into shape, but I've noticed that my neck has gained more muscle that my shoulders have due to the exercising. I can even see my neck straining in the mirror and don't know how to relax it.
Is there any way i can build my arms and shoulders whilst leaving my neck out of it?
Cheers!

Comma dooa whaaaatttt????
I'm not sure if i've ever heard of this problem before, but I'm going to guess you feel that your losing your feminine characteristics. It seems that many women, including my gf are afraid of getting freakishly big.
Just keep training, working all muscle groups, and everything will grow in unisome. Your neck wont get freakishly big (unless of course your site injecting synthol into your neck, which i seriously wouldnt recommend )

Yeah if your really worried about this neck issue, i'd eliminate shrugs and upright rows, or any trap building exercise.

There with you to a degree. The only thing I do that builds traps is deadlifts and cleans (well, I mean I don't any kind of shrugs or upright rows). My traps are already as developed as I want them. I really hope I can avoid traps getting too big.

It's not going to get that big, don't worry. The trapezius is rife with testosterone receptors, which usually allows us guys to build big traps quite easily, but you girls are at no risk of developing bull-like necks any time soon...

Ever since I started doing cleans my traps are looking better then ever. So from my experience it's probably the cleans that are developing your traps well.

I notice that in a few exercises traps get hit as secondary muscles. IE deads, military press, squats....
If you want to isolate your shoulders and arms I'd say you need to limit the free weight stuff that uses traps as secondaries. Try the machines in your gym that emulate the military press and focus on using only your shoulders. I'm guessing you don't want to widen your shoulders so don't do heavy side lat raises...use 10-15 lb weights for 15-20 rep sets. Eliminate the bent over lat raises...they hit traps fairly well. For arms, again, light weights with heavy reps. Concentrate on your triceps...women seem to hate that hanging flabby stuff so do either skull crushers or rope pulldowns. Some concentration curls would be good for your bis...again, work in the 10-15 lbs 15-20 rep range.
Do you have a picture that shows your upper back (your hair is too long to see through)? You might just be unnecessarily self conscious about it. On a side note, your waist looks awesome!!!
I'm not a trainer, so this advice is by no means professional.. There are probably just as many people who will agree with me as there are people who won't.

unfortunately i'm too daft to remember any of the names of the arm/shoulder exercises I do but I think they are something similar to this...
incline curls, tri pushdowns, shoulder presses, and some lat exercises too, basically all free weights on a relatively light weight for the lats and tris and a bit heavier for the inclines. The weights in my gym don't give you the exact weight they are just marked '1, 2, 3' though to 10 or so, and I'm not sure what amount of weight they relate to, but to put it into perspective when I say "light weight" i mean '2' and when i say "heavier" i mean 4, so double. I also do some arm and shoulder machines such as assisted chin and the rower machine. haha sorry I have a personal program worked out but then I also do a lot of things that I just see other people doing so I never learn their names properly.
but that is what i'm here for
let me know if that was a really bad explaination and I will try again

I doubt it includes neck bridges or heavy shrugs.
Anyway the less body fat you have and the more "in shape" you are the more the neck is gonna be visible. It's a genetic thing more than anything. Sorry there's nothing we can do to make it go away.
