Gumshields/Mouthguards

Do you use one? If so, what brand?

I had an opro custom fit one, but my mouth grew and it became painful to use. My shock doctor kept making me gag and want to throw up, but at the moment i have a Canterbury Gumshield in the mail on its way

I haven't used one for nearly a year, but people are bigger, faster and stronger this year, and i quite like my pearly whites **blue steel pose**

kind of manditory for football. i just wear the cheapass ones the school gives.

rugby isn't the only sport they play over there. in fact they do have american football aswell. i was simply stating that because i play football, and its mandatory and in your best interest to wear one, i wear one.

Pretty much every rugby player i know lol. I personally haven't worn one since i was 12 as i found that it just wasn't comfortable and i could breath a lot better without it. I'm not suggesting you don't wear one though, i have chipped 3 teeth because i haven't been wearing one but i figured id rather be able too put 100% into a game than 95% because ive got to keep fiddling with it to stop me gagging ect.

PS. I alwways used one that was made by my dentist. They take a mould of your mouth and then form the guard around that so that it is a perfect fit......unles you grow out of it or you take a stamp on the face and loose 3 of your pearly whites lol

Me and most people on my team use Shockdoctors. Easy to get in the UK and don't cost a great deal (about £10). I don't trust the cheap generic ones.
