Workout Attire
My question is What is what ok to wear in the gym. Ive thought about wearing Tanks on my upper days but I feel like other members will think I'm trying to "show off". I like tanks on upper day's beccause I get to see my work in progress. Give me some feedback.

Not sure if you want people to post pictures of what they wear, but I'll say this - I wear what will be comfortable for that day's workout. I usually wear sweatpants, but I wear running shorts on leg days. On upper body days I wear a tank top or cutoff shirt because I find them comfortable as they are less restricting.
When you're getting dressed for the gym, function > form.

Chrome Face. I guess you feel thatTank Tops are gay because you probably look gay wearing them. I just wanted some positive feedback not HATERS.

I don't wear them because I don't own any. Some people may find it cocky to wear one, I don't mind when people where them though.

It should all be about what is comfortable and what helps you get the best workout. I train at 5am so its usually sweats and in the summer what ever T shirt I grab from the draw.
If someone thinks its showing off, or gay, well thats cool but if it works for you then go for it.

Anyone who tells you wearing a tank top to workout in is gay is probably entirely insecure, has a high bf percentage and an unimpressive physique in general. I wear them because I sweat when I workout, and I don't want more than I have to have clinging to my body....
Makes sense, does it not?

I personally wear sweatpants and a big t-shirt. In the gym, I don't need to see the muscle work...I like to FEEL it. But a tank-top is cool...whatever floats ones boat. Just don't wear the baggy pants.

Wear what is comfortable for your workout (So long as it is within the gyms dress code). Screw what the others in your gym think about what you wear.

Ouch... your words are very hurtful.
Don't you understand that nobody cares about big arms? Girls don't care and guys don't care. It just makes me laugh when I see a guy trying to show off his upper body. You're not impressing anyone..

I say it depends on your weight. If you're fairly bulked, wear the tank. It'll look decent, you'll be able to get rid of the sweat fairly quickly, and you won't feel restricted while lifting. One thing though. If you wear a tank, you have to wear shorts. Otherwise, you'll look like a one-sided image.

as i get bigger i progressively sport less and less clothing to the gym...now I'm down to those small ass 4inch inseam running shorts and a shirt that's cut really low in the armpits and with the racer-back back to expose my sick lats.

Does it matter what other people think of you in the gym? You're going to workout, not to impress sweaty men. Wear what's comfortable for you...then just concentrate on your workout.
As for me, my workout clothes consist of a t-shirt and shorts, I don't even think about it.

"When in Rome..."
I guess it depends on the customs for where you live.
At most gyms I've trained in, guys wear t-shirts. But the culture can vary from very conservative (t-shirts/shorts/long gym pants) to 'casual' tank tops (aka a-shirts/"wifebeaters"), sleeveless t-shirts, and in others (especially if you're training in your garage or basement) you can workout in blue jeans and no shirt at all. So it just depends on the culture of the gym you're training in.
Dress what you feel comfortable in, while adhering to the dress code rules and culture of your gym. Remember though, you're not there for a fashion show. You're there to get a workout then go home (and eat).
By the way, check out some of the gyms in Tema and Accra, Ghana. It just goes to show you the wide range of workout possiblities there are in the world (equipment and how you dress):
http://www.ntpowerhouse.com/gyms.html
Training at the Danger Zone Gym looks like it would be a seriously hardcore experience. I guess no one there complains about the AC being set too low or high, or about the crappy music playing on the sound system (as I've been known to do from time to time).
