Back Soreness vs. Back Pain
After a heavy fullbody workout (that includes squats or deadlifts), I find my lower back strength decrease tremendously (and for good reason lol). A few hours later, I'm weary to pick stuff off the ground because it feels like my back is more "sensitive" and prone to being pulled.
The other day, I did a bit of lifting after and a pain/soreness has developed in my back/butt/hip area. It's right at the top of my crack (for lack of better term). It isn't to intense and I'm able to bend down, squat down and walk pain free, however after sitting for a while i can feel it. It's almost line a nerve type pain. One thing that does aggravate it is when I do an exxagerated yawn (bending backwards) I hit a certain point and then a pain pulses and it feels like my verterbrae are shiftign a bit.
I;m wondering if this is to be expected since I am returning after a while off, or should I stop. I think I could squat or deadlift right now without pain but I've never had soreness in this place.

Could be you answered your own question. I felt something like that before. Did you start off too heavy after a layoff?

sound like what i have...... see a doctor now. stop doing deads for now. rest that lower back and stretch it.
lay on your back and bring your legs to your body and across your hips to stretch your hips, ass, and hammys

The movement that aggravates it is when I over-arch my back. Is it possible to push your ass out too much on squats and deads. Can you over-arch??

see a doctor. you're only 16.... you don't want to have a messed up back at that early age.
the pain you feel is probably a pinched nerve.... and that's probably caused by a bulging disc.
see a doctor. i went a few months without see one because i was too stubborn.... just go already.

Yes, you can overarch. However, most people aren't that flexible so it isn't an issue.
Just see a doctor (sports doctor/physical therapist) if it is bona fide pain.

Wouldn't I be in more pain if it was my spine? I can do most things fine (just not a really overarched posture). I can likely squat and deadlift painfree, it;s just after with the DOMS that i get it after sitting down and such. FFs, i did not need this right now... i'm just coming off a 4 month shoulder rehab. this bodybuilding **** just isn't workin out man....

Don't f*ck with your back, go get it checked out . Trust me it sounds like the beginging of a disc problem. When you bend backwards and feel a pinching in you low back right above the crack in you ass that is a pinched nerve. That could be caused by either your vertebrae being out of alignment which pinches you nerve at certain angles. Worse yet you could be developing a bulged disc. which I have had for 3 years and it sucks brother. See a good sports doc/chiropractor.

Some words of wisdom from me to you:
Be carefull lifting too heavy even if your strong as hell. There are parts of your body that can get damaged even with tons of muscle on your frame. I thought I was superman when I was young, and now I'm paying the price= buldged L5-S1 disc three years and counting of constant low back pain.

good post. sorry to hear about your bulged disk, to hear about that happening kind of gives me a reality check.
yes it is possible to overarch your back. you want your back to be nuetral with maybe a slliiiigggghhttt arch while deadlifting. dont overdo it.

Nerve damage is irreversable. The spine is pretty crucial, dude. Surgury sucks, but is often the only solution... which often times does not even solve the problem.
Take it easy.
If you can, try to get an x-ray done on it even. Serious stuff that can affect you with pain for the rest of your life!!!! Ok, don't panic.
