Anyways, I'm thinking about selling my Hyundai Tiburon gtv6(which only has 15k miles on it) and selling it to put toward a ferrari 328 gts when I graduate from school. My parents told me they would fork over about 25000 on a car(as a graduation present) when I graduate so I decided I would sell my tiburon for 10,000 and get a good condition 328 gts that goes for about 35000. I am really tired of my tiburon because it is no longer fun to drive because the most it will hit is like 137mph at redline. I love to drive fast and want something to street race with. I was embarassed one time when I challenged a new corvette at a streetlight and he just pulled over in front of me like my car couldn't even move. Any other suggestions for fast cars I can get around that price range that are exotic?

Haha, someday I want to get a 360 modena or f430. lets see I'll do the math right here. By the way I'd rather have a nice car than a big house because all I really do in my house is sit on my ass all day except when I go to the gym. So I really only need like 2-3 rooms.
At a $50,000 salary:
$25,000 goes to taxes and food costs/utility and housing costs and general living(in an apartment)
put 25000 in savings for 10 years = 250,000 not including interest so its probably more
spend 100,000 on a used modena or f430 and I still have 150k in savings.

I can make it affordable and live in an apartment for like 200-300 a month. Then I can go buy my ferrari after a few years lol.Last edited by Duff62269; 09-07-2006 at 04:14 AM.

as Lift was alluding to, it's a poor investment. the ferrari will continue to depreciate over time. when you get rid of it and upgrade to a newer/faster/better car, you will lose a good chunk of change.
real estate, on the other hand, almost always appreciates in value.
it's just a smarter investment to buy a house and drive a beater, than it is to throw money away on renting a place and purchasing a car.$157 billion creates 650,000 jobs = $240,000 cost to create or save 1 job

But houses aren't fun . You get a thrill out of them. I don't see the purpose of owning any more than 3 rooms because all I need is a bedroom to sleep in and play my xbox 360, a kitchen to eat, and a bathroom. I really don't do much in the house. Plus an exotic will keep most of its value if I get it serviced regularly.

edit: a 3+ bedroom house is a better investment b/c of resale...no one is buying 2 br houses$157 billion creates 650,000 jobs = $240,000 cost to create or save 1 job

The other thing. You're building your entire future over getting a used 80s Ferrari just to pull chicks? Dude, spend $1000 in the club and you'll have all the chicks you can handle. Put the rest somewhere sensible, i.e. property/invest.Last edited by Kameldude; 09-07-2006 at 04:50 AM.
