One trap bigger than the other

Ive been doing shrug exercises with a barbell to build up my traps for some time but ive just noticed that my right side is quite alot larger than my left. Does anyone know how i could isolate my left trap to build it up to the same as my right?

Oddly enough, I have the same problem.

I have tried very heavy dumbbell shrugs for the smaller trap and I have tried heavy dumbbell upright rows, but my trap hasn't grown at all.

    Anyone have a solution?

    Thanks,
    S.

    DB's
Maybe try heavier than usual or switch up the weight go light weight-high rep once then heavy and low the next.
Sorry, I don't have anything better to suggest.

Its more likely that this is a postural problem, and not a muscle problem. How's your posture?

Try going a little heavier on the weaker side with some DB's

Try holding a DB with your weak side and grab something sturdy with your freehand and shrug with just the smaller trap.

Make sure your not cheating in any way whatsover from now on when you do any trap exercise! (or all exercises for that matter!) Go slow, positive and negative! Form matters!

If one of your traps is bigger than the other one it's obvious that 1 of 2 things are happening. Or both.

    1. Poor form (too much weight perhaps and your swaying?)
    2. Lack of DB exercises

what about your trap routine what does it look like? anychance your doing too many sets on traps and overtraining? I know friends who have done 12-15 sets on traps and get no results. Personally however I like sticking to the real heavy 4-6 set trap workout and it works better. Maybe decrease your volume a little?

I used db's to try to even it up the best I can. however due to weight limitations on db's that can somewhat be containing post the 100 db's.. anyway if you really have one bigger than the other is it really noticiable from another persons standpoint? or just yours? You will see a cm's difference while others will not hehe ask your friends, g/f etc..
