tips to train for wrestlings
Hi, I really want to learn wrestling and eventually get on my school wrestling team in OCTOBER. Basically for the last year ive been bulking up, and working on my cardio, for the past couple of months ive been smoking cigs, and just lifting not really doing cardio.
I have experience in brazilian jiujitsu, that can transfer to wrestling but it wont really at all give me an edge.
What kind of lifts should you do for wrestling? and what type of cardio? and what kinda things should i start practicing before the season starts thanks.

one word... cardio!!!.. One thing i learned for my first year wrestling is that strength doesnt mean **** if u dont have cardio. I was by far the strongest on my team.. but had smoked a lot of weed for over a year previously. I thought i would kick ass since i was pretty much the strongest around.. but i gassed out after the first 2 minutes.. so yeah cardio cardio cardio. If u dont have cardio fitness then dont even try it.

1. stop ****ing smoking
2. drop to 189 somehow. no way in hell you can be competitive at 215 by october.
3. run. and i dont mean 10 40s, i mean a 4 mile RUN (not jog) followed up with some quarter internvals.
4. olympic lifts, push ups, sit ups, dips, and pull ups.
5. have someone who is a technically sound wrestler teach you a double leg, nelson, stand up, and sit out. make sure they know what the hell they are talking about.
6. forget the guard (i was a judoka prior to wrestling, itll just **** you over).
good luck!
PS really, quit smoking. you will NEVER be competitive with a handicap like that.

First of all you need to quit smoking and get good lungs.
Then loose some weight.
then just listen to your coach.
age= 16
Bench= 230
Squat= 250
clean=200

i eat babies for protein.
SQUAT. we had 2 state champion wrestlers last year, and they said "the key to conditioning is cardio and squatting, thats it."
NEW GOAL(s):
Regain my strength.
Put on 5 lbs of muscle.
Gain better overall fitness (strength, endurance, muscle)
"don't give up, the beginning is always the hardest."
