Can you play guitar?
Hey there, well simple question: Can you play guitar? It can be either acoustic or electric. As for me...I have an acoustic guitar at home so I decided to start playing it. I can play chords: a,g and d now. Does anyone know what songs you can play with that chords? working on chord C now. Thanks in Advance

I play bass in that band, but I'm also a guitarist (as you can see from my avatar).

i haven't been practicing as much as I should, but I know a couple chords.
I have bought a couple DVD's and am learning alot quicker when something is demonstrated.
Bought a couple easy play tab books, so that will be fun learning songs.
I found on-line that there are "play along with" book/dvd combo, which are dvds from bands that teach you how to play songs.

Yeah, I can play - used to be very good electric years back (lead and rhythm), but wife/home/family came along and now I'm down to my playing acoustic occasionally...and not too great at all, anymore, either...heh...but it sounds OK to those that can't play.

First thing is first. If you can play "Acoustic" guitar then you can also play "electric" guitar. the notes are the same. the only difference is the feel and sound.
and I can play a bit of guitar and I can play bass. I used to play bass in a band but then I switched to a 2nd guitar in the band, then the band "broke up"
yes I dabble

Yeah, I play a little bit everyday.
Try working through this to get your chord changes smooth. You should be building a list of songs that you want to learn and then build your playing around that. If you learn what you like for music you will a) practice more and b) have a better feel for the music.

I do not have a guitar. However, my stupid sister has three acousitic guitars but refuses to let me use them. I take her guitar to practise some songs when she's not around.
I'm thinking of getting an electric guitar soon. It's very cool. Lol.
I use tabs from www.ultimate-guitar.com. I play songs which are meant for electric guitars but they still sound cool. That site has lessons on how to read tabs too.

Does anyone else have a favourite chord? I've been playing quite a bit of Cm recently, feel like a bit of a change now tho.
Also, do you find it easier to play electro or acoustic? I play a lot of acoustic but dabble with an electric now and again and find it easier. Is it just me?
