    whats wrong with white rice??

    whats bad about white rice. i eat that all the time. why is brown rice so much better??? thanks

    I consider brown rice worse coz it has phytates, oxalates, etc that inhibit mineral absorption, plus isoluble fibre has been shown to correlate with bowel cancer. Plus it tastes like ****! But then you have to be careful not to eat too much white rice in one sitting due to insulin repsonse. So, there are pros & cons that have to be weighed up to make any balanced dietary decision. Hope my 2c worth has added some info for you to conisder in making that decision, and I'm sure others will add their opinions too...

    Most people's gripe with white rice is it's high GI.

    I am having the same problem too with white rice question. Everyone I know says white will intrigue insulin. How about for bulky?
    i love this white rice. I decided to get brown rice i hate the way it tastes. i have like 3 bags now which I am going to throw away.
    there is nothing impossible in the eyes of pumping iron. get layed alot, good health and looking at everyone fat.

    I love brown rice!

    I used to be a white rice fan and when I first started eating brown I didn't like it, but now it tastes much better to me. It seems like more of a whole food and has real taste, rather than just being "filler", kind of like comparing whole grain bread to white bread. White bread is like eating a pillow!

    Try this:

    Before you cook your rice add 1tblsp lowfat butter (for 4 cups rice), salt, pepper, lawries seasoning salt (a lot), and some crumbled parsley.

    sometimes, my brown rice comes out perfect(not slimy) and most of the time, when i cook it, the rice like melts and turns into a sudge, i dont know whats wrong cause im not over cooking it

    If the GI is all you are worried about, extra-long grain white rice and brown rice are nearly the same...

    the reasone brown rice is better, is because it contains more nutrients, since it has not been processed (bleached) like white rice...

    I say if your only known to white rice and don't like brown rice..

    Just eat the white rice

    I try to eat only like maybe 3 tablespoon of white rice...

    This way I can be satisfied of eating some white rice with my piled up bean sprouts, green veggies and a little bit of salmon from a bumble bee can...

    fills me up.. hehe

    a little off topic but ive eaten brown rice for months and months, and notice pieces of the grain when i goto the bathroom. Is that normal? or is it just my body that doesnt digest it all , same thing goes every once and a while for the flax seeds in flax seed bread.

    What I did was that I decided to do something different with brown rice. I decided to add a bit of green peas when cooking, add canola oil and some seasoning it tastes better. One should eat brown rice and eat a little of white rice once a week to compensate the craving. I think that will solve the problems. Two rice are the same glycemic Index anyway thanks to luke530 just the dietary fiber different. What about adding extra dietary fiber seperately like METAMUCIL to daily food? Probably one should stop worry the taste of brown rice. Why the question about condemming the LOVEABLE WHITE RICE?.
    Why is the BR melt is not yet refined to white.
    We are all looking for the best way to be healthy that is the reason why every one is concerned.

    im sure you know what they do to make brown rice into white rice, they polish off the grains, do you know what they make with the powder that gets buffed off , it's used to make B vitamins amongst other things, so you can get some vitamins naturally or eat white rice and get the brown of it in you vitamins.

    I believe if you see the grains in the stool is that when the food is not well digested in to proper tract system. That is why most of the pills we take like suppl or food half of them are not well digested.They pass through the intestine and out. They are not suppose to be like that and something is missing to help transport the food around the body.
    Take Vitamin C and E will help do a proper digestive system.
