I consider brown rice worse coz it has phytates, oxalates, etc that inhibit mineral absorption, plus isoluble fibre has been shown to correlate with bowel cancer. Plus it tastes like ****! But then you have to be careful not to eat too much white rice in one sitting due to insulin repsonse. So, there are pros & cons that have to be weighed up to make any balanced dietary decision. Hope my 2c worth has added some info for you to conisder in making that decision, and I'm sure others will add their opinions too...

i love this white rice. I decided to get brown rice i hate the way it tastes. i have like 3 bags now which I am going to throw away.there is nothing impossible in the eyes of pumping iron. get layed alot, good health and looking at everyone fat.

I love brown rice!
I used to be a white rice fan and when I first started eating brown I didn't like it, but now it tastes much better to me. It seems like more of a whole food and has real taste, rather than just being "filler", kind of like comparing whole grain bread to white bread. White bread is like eating a pillow!
Try this:
Before you cook your rice add 1tblsp lowfat butter (for 4 cups rice), salt, pepper, lawries seasoning salt (a lot), and some crumbled parsley.

I say if your only known to white rice and don't like brown rice..
Just eat the white rice
I try to eat only like maybe 3 tablespoon of white rice...
This way I can be satisfied of eating some white rice with my piled up bean sprouts, green veggies and a little bit of salmon from a bumble bee can...
fills me up.. hehe

What I did was that I decided to do something different with brown rice. I decided to add a bit of green peas when cooking, add canola oil and some seasoning it tastes better. One should eat brown rice and eat a little of white rice once a week to compensate the craving. I think that will solve the problems. Two rice are the same glycemic Index anyway thanks to luke530 just the dietary fiber different. What about adding extra dietary fiber seperately like METAMUCIL to daily food? Probably one should stop worry the taste of brown rice. Why the question about condemming the LOVEABLE WHITE RICE?.
Why is the BR melt is not yet refined to white.

im sure you know what they do to make brown rice into white rice, they polish off the grains, do you know what they make with the powder that gets buffed off , it's used to make B vitamins amongst other things, so you can get some vitamins naturally or eat white rice and get the brown of it in you vitamins.
