    Waking up dehydrated?

    What could be some reasons that I wake up dehydrated and thirsty? Even if I drink til I'm not thirsty before I go to bed I still wake up dehydrated

    maybe dehydrated or not getting enough water throughout the day, just because u drink till you aren't thristy before u sleep, doesn't mean you are hydrating yourself properly.

    How much water should I drink each day? I know they say 8 cups, but I think I need way more than that

    Id up your water intake to a gallon a day if it isnt there already. Also, dehydration is a sign of diabetes. Make sure you check into that.

    Maybe I misinterpreted the meaning of 8 cups a day? (I got 16 ounce cups, def dont drink 8 of those a day ...i know that for sure)

    I may be crazy but maybe us bodybuilders are so used to drinking water consistently that when we go without it for 8 hours it affects us more then people who dont drink water at all.

    Try to drink at LEAST a gallon a day... you should easily be able to down 8 16 oz glasses a day.

    I'm no where near 1 gallon I'm honestly around half gallon or less

    Edit: Yeah you all are right. I should start drinknig a lot more water. 1 gallon a day it is!

    Actually ever since getting hurt, I stopped taking supps pretty much. Just a multi vitamin pretty much lately, except I'm also taking ZMA and some MSM + Chondroitin and glucosamine and flax seed oil.

    I've noticed when I take casein protein before bed I wake up without that dry feeling in my mouth and not so hungry (well that is expected of course)

    So I don't know if it's a placebo, but you could try some casein before bed if you aren't already.

    Also maybe cool off your bedroom more in case you are sweating during the night. Another thing is if you sleep with your mouth open (happens if your nose isn't cleared out before bed) then you'll be very dry in the morning.

    Oh yeah, drank over a gallon of water yesterday and didn't really wake up dehydrated. Still think I could use a little more water...but guess I wasn't drinking enough

    I may be crazy but maybe us bodybuilders are so used to drinking water consistently that when we go without it for 8 hours it affects us more then people who dont drink water at all.
    Perhaps you're right. I drink about 15L of water/day and I always wake up really thirsty, but needing to whizz at the same time.

    I keep water buy my bed because I always wake up just dyeing of thirst. But you do need to piss all the time.

    Every time I drink water I fill myself right up (about 2L), and do that about 7 times/day. I feel thirsty unless I do.
