    Lightbulb Squats and deadlifts increase height

    Does doing heavy squats, leg presses and deadlifts increase height by spurting the growth hormone HGH. Please confirm.

    I'm sorry afi2006 but I'm that's a wivestale. Although the growth hormone HGH IS released, it is not in a sufficient amount to actually increase your height. Try searching google for more info, that's what i did.

    Plus once your epiphysis calcify completely your bones don't grow longer, only thicker.

    The last ones usualy close at 14~16 in women and up to early 20s for men, though in these later years the most you'll grow is probably like 1/4 of an inch.

    That's true actualy. Though once you get back on the floor a couple hours later you're back to your normal height. It happens all the time, your spine is usualy compressed by gravity during the day and returns to it's normal position when you sleep (since you're lying down). If you hang yourself upside down it'll strech longer that it realy is. But the next day it just gets compressed again and this goes on day in day out. Try measuring yourself in the morning and before bed. There's usualy a ~1cm difference (0.4").

    i've always noticed that after a few sets of heavy squats, i feel shorter.
