I quit five years ago. I smoked three packs a day and quit cold turkey...

Well, I quit 8 days ago, for the third, and hopefully last time. Usual reasons, health, money....... Cant say I had the balls to go cold turkey. I am using these lozenges which seem to work, and I have sworn off alcohol for 6 months.
Apart from the occasional intense, short lived urge, I am already feeling better..
Funny how at 41 I finally realised the stupidity of correct eating, working out etc, then lighting up before I got to the car after a workout.

Funny thing... I recently started running wind sprints at the local high school's track. There's a guy there that walks for about an hour... Anyway second time now... he actually lights up while doing his laps. WTF??

Thanks Energizer. I will do it or it will do me in....
Reminded of that overused saying. We spend the first 40 years doing our best to kill ourselves, and the next 40 trying to stay alive....

I smoked for nearly 15 years - quit cold turkey 6 years ago and have not touched another since then.

Never have, never will. Geez - I won't even date guys who smoke.
That lifestyle and mine don't mesh.
Think of it this way, Energizer... when you're struggling with 100's of pounds on a lift and you feel like just quitting - do you? NO... you suck it up, rack it up, put it up (might feel like you will throw UP)... but you just DO it.
If I offered you a way to 'magically' increase your muscular strength, cardirespiratory capacity, live longer, look better, and help you break from the control of a negative force... would you take it? It's free - it's there, and it's all you.
You can do it, Energizer!!!!
Throw the crap out the window, chew some gum... work out harder. Whatever it takes.

I quit cold turkey on April 11, 1998. Had a 3+ pack a day habit (reds) for 30 years.
Throwing multiple embolisms in both lungs was a huge motivating factor.
Gained almost a 100 pounds. Went from 378 to over 450.
Started to turn my life around in April of 03.
Currently weigh 189, less than when I was 13 and in 7th grade. (1963)
Haven't touched a cigarette, since. I still have a partial carton of Marlboros in the freezer since 1998. LOL, first time I thought of that frozen carton in years.

I've been smoking since I was 12. I have quit a few times. I started again when my wife was dying because I was so frazzled. Now I can't seem to give them up. I would love to be able to, because I think it will help my lifting and my stamina. It is SO damn hard thoug.
