Really bad chest prob.

Well I went to my chiropractor today because of an injurie 2 months earlier doing seated dips. He said my ribs hurts because my spine is straight instead of being curved. He said thats making my chest flat instead of curved out and when I do dips my sternum cant "give" or strecth out. Instead my ribs just push against each other. He said I also can't stretch my chest. Just put your elbows at your side and pull back and thats what he means. HYe says that will make the cartilage harden later in life and i'll have hard times breathing. Well what he said basicly kills all back exercises and flyes. Got any ideas or am I screwed?

Get a second opinion.

Flyes aren't that great anyway; however, not being able to pull your arms back like that prevents you from rowing which is pretty much a lot of the back exercises. Honestly, I don't think having a flat spine would hinder you that much... but then again, I'm not a doctor. If worst comes to worst, you can still do pullups/chinups for back which is fine although rowing should be an integral component of your routine.
