Guys how much money do you make at your level?
I pretty much know **** all about stocks and shares trends etc, but am starting to read up on the sites provided in the thread.
To me it seems pretty simple in that consistancy will be your key coupled with stops.
Just wondering how much money can be made of stock and shares if you get good, I mean examples of like what some people are making
Also is maths any use in stocks and shares?
Great thread, keep it up!

It's all about how much $ you have to work with, how you handle risk management (capital preservation) and lengthy experience to know how to trade. The sad thing is most think this is an easy buck...PRO traders will tell you it can be the hardest buck you make. There's so many variables in how to trade with the market sentiment, slippage and it all adds up to...you can lose your a$$ quick.
Stops sound all fine and dandy but it's hard to beat the emotions sometimes. FUEL was a good example for me, I don't let stops slide but this time it was low volume and I let it slide, and slide and now I'm down 13%.
I've only traded for 8 months so I may have many years ahead to learn...but I knew that coming into this.Last edited by mcichocki; 06-19-2007 at 03:50 PM.

Hey guys, might want to watch SDRG closely over the next few days after this: http://www.primenewswire.com/newsroo....html?d=121473 - reports of a new chimney for mineral extraction.
Historically speaking it seems that this stock gains volume from positive press releases, so keep a watchful eye on this.

Great day on the markets. [\sarcasm]
As bad as the markets were it seems to be a test of support on INDU and a gap fill on COMPQ IMO. Hopefully tomorrow is better for us, hard to get a runner while fading the markets trend.
BTW this could be nothing but I see a bear cup n' handle in the macd of INDU with the handle starting to break to the downside...fluke??? Input?
Thanks

You have got to be kidding me...I was reading through a chapter in O'Neil's book on cup and handles just today, and thought the exact same thing!!! I'm not sure what to make of it but like I started saying a while ago, I find the markets to be very choppy as of late and a correction is probably in the works.

I said compq but I meant DJI...sorry. Below is my 2 cents.
So I see maybe more a pan n' handle than a cup but a breakdown anyhow. The slow stoch usually leads the macd and we see clearly the stoch has crossed and the handle is broken to the downside. If the macd follows suit this could indicate a trend change. I hope our 1st support bounces though, if not the blue line should be support 2 as I see it. If that breaks LOOK OUT BELOW would be my guess. The macd is a powerful indicator and if we break support and the macd shows emas spreading to the downside it could pull back pretty well IMO. Honestly though, I feel we'll get the bounce off the bottom of the channel (see below chart).
Here's one other chart, longer term to show the channel support that the last "correction" tested and some other support levels as I see them.
I'm still a noob so feel free to correct what may be wrong or add your input if you see something different.Last edited by mcichocki; 06-20-2007 at 11:47 PM.

Not such a good day yesterday.
I just bought in to BDCO this morning though. Blue Dolphon Energy just signed an agreement on a new oil pipeline transportation deal. The stock should see some movement today. I'll probably hold this stock for at least a week or more to try to get something out of it.
Its risky of course but I still want to at least bring your attention to it.

Heres a few stocks I actually own, you've probably heard me mention them before.
ECCI - Big risk but this thing has the possibility to run hard (has had dilution problems in the past). Chart is setting up quite nicely, MACD is crossing and RSI is rising, looks like a nice reversal in the making. To me this one definately has the most potential.
WEGI - I really like this one, MACD is also crossing at the bottom, RSI rising and has had good volume. Should see 0.24 easy on its next move up.
NSMG - Pretty much identical breakout compared to the other two.
Keep in mind all of these only really run hard when theres a hurricane that will effect the US, and as we get closer to August/September (the peak of the season) they should increase.
