It really depends on the curcumstances, If the enemy was landing on our beaches then yes, but if you are referring to invading another country or defending the countries foreign assests then no, no way.
I dont know if I would really want to join the military and be some commanders cannon fodder, id rather fight independently with close friends/family or a partisan/guerrilla group.

it's THEIR country......not YOURS
And yes, I would die for my country, I would just hope it would be from a swift sniper in the head or a big missle.God is bigger than you

It's just a job with added risks once in a very blue moon.
The idea isn't to die for your country, it's to make the other bastard die for his

Oh I'm patriotic but we get severely screwed by the Government and the country is being overrun by immigrants who have brought a lot of crime (thats a sweeping statement and isn't meant to sound racist but its very true) - I wouldn't die for this! I would die to save someone I care about though.
You see the program on Channel 4 the other night where they gave 50k to someone based on their beliefs and stuff and when asked about immigration all the contestants said there were too many?
Should have opened a few eyes about how most people feel, but more than likely won't.
This isn't meant to sound racist but i think our government needs to reevaulate things as there aren't enough jobs as it is.

There is a great pride here in Australia about people dying for their country - it is seen as the most heroic thing to do, but I can't see how one extra life, ie. mine, will save Australia. I'd rather be in an air conditioned office making my fortune. Plus, I can't be drafted into the Army anyway - knee injury + doctors certificate prevents it

Did you hear about the place in London where they were making poison - it was people with links to Al Qeada - they were claiming benefit getting £32.50 per week and being given a place to live for free by the Governemt.
That was in Wood Green, 10 minutes up the road from my girlfriends house. On Green Lanes there is gang warfare because the Curds have moved into a Greek area, theres gangs from Kosovo and Romania round, people are getting shot and stabbed all over the place and they have had to put out permanent police patrols all because of these foreigners that have come over and started all this trouble.
Of course if you say anything against that your automatically a racist - The only way you can say I don't like this is to vote for the BNP but then they are known as being racist and violent. I pay tax through the nose for these people to live here for free, get free money and then go around shooting eachother.
Gang shooting at the top of my girlfriends road - 3 dead, her and her friends got followed home from the pub one night by three people from god knows where - Romania or something - fortunately I was there and confronted them when they were standing around outside the house.
I hate it - I wanna move!"my grocery bill looks like a ransom note"

I'm all for genuine asylum seekers, if it is genuine of course, I mean I'd like to think that I was danger of being killed for something totally ridiculous that I could go somewhere but its beyond a joke now.
Al Q (however its spelt) should be shot, I don't see why you'd kill people for having a different belief to you.

I stopped feeling like "my" government represented me a long time ago. So, in that sense, it's not my country. I love my freedom, and I love the opportunity that I'm blessed with in the U.S. However, the way our government is trying to be the global police officer, and the way we try to shove our views down everyone else's throats makes me sick. So, like Chris Rock said when talking about gays in the military....

I'd post my views, but it'd be almost an exact copy of what Iron Lord just posted, at least up until the global police officer part.
