Watch out for that sugar-free candy!
I just thought I'd let you know about my experience with sugar-free gummy bears a while ago... I was looking for something sweet for the same reason, contest dieting. I may have had about 10-12 sugar-free gummy bears and about 30 min later I got terrible cramps. I thought that 10-12 wasn't much, but I guess my system just did not like the sugar alcohols - it had a laxative effect. Not fun and not worth it.
I do enjoy mixing a little bit of sugar-free Jell-O with my fat-free cottage cheese (while I can still eat the cottage cheese) and closer to a competition I just rely on my oatmeal and vanilla protein powder mix.
Hope this helps a bit!
All the best with your competition/dieting goals!

I think the key would really be to ignore and overcome the craving, instead of looking for substitutions.
When you are really prepping for a contest, you are going to have to deal with this, so better to learn how to overcome it now rather than later.

OK, so Linda what is your preferred cheat meal?
Me, I love Outback Steak house, big juicy steak, baked potato, of course with everything on it, salad, a little bread and some desert. YUM YUM!!!
