    Nutrition and rest advice needed

I have been working out and training for close to 10 years now. I have made the mistake that many athletes make i thought training like a body builder was the key. However for about 3 months now i have been doing explosive functional training, Cleans/deadlift/ Jump pushups, med ball work outs, Weighted pull ups, Heavy squats and so on. My question is how should i eat while training like this. I find myself hungry all the time and it seems like eatting very clean doesnt do much for me. I also find myself feeling slugish just recently started about 2 weeks ago. I have cut out cardio for now since my goal is to gain strength. My question is should i still be hitting the gym hard 5 days a week or is more rest needed ? Also i read somewhere that when doing explosive plyometric work after about 8 weeks you need 2 off to recharge your central nervous system is this true?
