How to kill the taste of Cottage Cheese!!??
My nightly routine is to have an apple, some natural PB and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese before bed. I want to keep the cottage cheese in my diet for the casein protein, however, I HATE the taste of the stuff! The curdles are almost too much to handle, LOL! I had been mixing some FF yogurt or strawberries in with it, and it helps.
Anyway.. I'm looking for some "Cottage Cheese Recipes" for bedtime. What do you like to mix with it?
Does anyone else hate it but eat it anyway?

Have you tried to put it in a food processor and smooth it out?
I add sugar free jam, low carb yogurt, or even just a little splenda to mine sometimes.
There are tons of recipes in the recipe thread on making pancakes and protien bars with it as well.

That's what I was thinking... That it may be better tolerated if those terrible curdles were gone!!

I'm the exact opposite. . .I love the texture and that weird, cheesy taste to it. I always make sure to get Alta Dena or Lucerne, since they have that taste; and most other brands are seemingly flavorless.
If you want, you could actually make yourself a delicious lil milkshake, and include one cup of cottage cheese. You won't even taste it, and you're still getting in the casein protein.

I hate it, too!
The only way I can choke it down is to A. make protein pancakes with it (morning option only) or B. put it in the food processor with a little water and sugar free, fat free instant pudding mix. I either let it stand and then eat it like pudding or I freeze it and make "fudgecicles". Demented and sad, but I can get it down that way.

I manage the impossible
Add a bit of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg, and some stevia, then cream it.
Add a bit of peanut butter to that, if it doesn't quite do it.
Or add some Mrs. Dash and a bit of salt/pepper and a small dollop of mustard if you don't prefer it sweet.

1-2-3....Suck In!
I love it with sliced strawberries, kashi go lean crunch and splenda. Doesn't really get rid of the curdles though.
It true..........not all cottage cheese is created equal. I love cottage cheese but there are some brands that even I can't tolerate.

Officially a J.D.
I like the small curd stuff. I can't stand the large curd, so ewwww!
I usually mix it with sugar free preserves, so it tastes like strawberry or whatever flavor you life.

Different brands taste differently. I prefer Blue Bell Small Curd 1% cottage cheese. Of course, I've like cottage cheese since I was a wee bitty kid. So I'm never had a problem. BUT I di agree that some are better than others. And when it comes to cottage cheese, you don't by the cheap stuff. I only buy that if I'm using it to cook with.. i.e: my sausage stuffed manicotti, or stuff tomatoes.

I had actually never eaten cottage cheese until a few months ago, so I had no idea what to do with it...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone (and thanks for the FAQ Link, Asianbabe!)

I mix it with tuna and freshly ground pepper.
Also, put the cottage cheese and tuna mix on a salad and mix it in, which is better than eating all three separately and dry. You won't even know it's there.

I have to eat mine plain. I can't mix anything into it. Mixing it with stuff is what makes it tastes gross to me.

Run the cheese through the food processor it comes out like pudding. Than add fruit, or nut butters, or both to it. You can also sweeten it with stevia or spleanda to taste. Another option freeze for ~1 hour and it will taste similar to icecream.

I like 2% cottage cheese(I forget the brand, but there is a HUGE idfference in taste and texture depending on the brand! So check different ones out) and I don't like it unless it's blended with peanut butter and stevia.. then it's DELICIOUSE!!
Also you can drizzle cooked frozen mixed berries w/added stevia on the top, it's really good

Oh my! I can't understand how someone could NOT like cottage cheese! Yum! Yum!
Yea, different brands surely do taste differently... my advice....explore.
I put dryroasted & unsalted soynuts in mine w/ 2 packets of splenda. It's delicious! I like the sweetness+crunchiness of it.
I eat this 2x's per day...I have to slap my own hand sometimes because I can eat the entire container easily! hahaha. (:::as some of you gag::
