Are you someone who plans every meal of the day out perfectly so you hit your numbers within 2 or 3% or do you just "ball park it" using portions or something else?

I have a set meal plan, but a lot of times during the week I'll just improvise a meal that is pretty close in calories and macro. to my usual meal.

I'm sure you don't want me to post here, but I don't give a ****
I use fitday to figure out what I've eaten, and I plan ahead of time to get the minimum of 280g protein and 6000 calories
lately its been 300+ protein and 7000+ cals, because I just eat as much as I possibly can, not really caring too much about macronutrient percentages.... not TOO much

During the school year I plan it all out and figure out my cals and make sure protein is up ande everything. Right now though since I have football practice I'm eating clean with the exception of 1 meal (provided for us during 2 a days) and I just eat alot. I get about 4,000 cals a day or more. When I don't plan my meals I end up eating more than I would if I didn't plan. So it doesn't make me lose any weight or anything.

hrmmm i planned them out for a long time... but after awhile, it becomes easy to guesstimate b/c you pretty much know how much you are eating... the only things i really keep in check are a) set amount of calories b) meet protein requirements. the ratios i do not think are near important.
that being said i still keep a running tally in my head... so, just about the same. after you do it for a long time you pretty much know what food combos to eat, when to eat them, how many cals and protein certain portions contain, and how much more you need to eat that day. for a newbie to nutrition i would definitely say get you a set plan for awhile, b/c atleast you know your diet is incheck... if your gains are off... it sprobably your workout.
