Wheatgrass?
Just curious if anyone has tried wheatgrass, and if it really does have the benefits that it is claimed to have? from my research it is hard to tell what is true, and what is marketing....not sure i could ever get myself to drink that stuff though...

i have a shot of wheatgrass every week or so. it's supposedly really cleansing. i don't see what everyone hates so much about the taste; it doesn't bother me.

I was actually just at this store called jamba juice ( www.jambajuice.com for info), and I had a shot of wheatgrass. The taste was pretty good actually. I went home and did some research and I like what I see. I might even get a juicer and wheatgrass kit for my home.

They have that stuff at the Recreation and physical activity center where i sometimes lift, tried it once. Strong flavor, leaves(ha ha ha) an aftertaste similar to artifical sweetners, not that bad though.
2$ for a shot, not cheep either.

definitely not too cheap for the juice. however wheatgrass pills are available, and what i did was purchase a pound of wheatgrass powder and just capped it myself.

i work at a natural food store that sells this stuff by the oz. and let me tell you wheatgrass is one best things you can ever put into your body. its have more antioxidants than pomagranit juice and green tea. its somthing like 90% chlorophyll which has a lot energy stright from the sun. its supposed to clean you out and help you absorb nutrients better. Ive even herd people say it helps prevent and even help cure cancer. we have a whole 2 page list of what this stuff dose. however, it tast like your licking a lawnmower blade. and lots of people puke after their first time trying it. So I wouldn't advise taking it on an empty stomach.

Yah, I've tried a tablet form of Wheatgrass that the Vitamin Shop sells. I noticed a difference immediatley. Maybe mixing it in a sweet post recovery shake might kill the taste? Or maybe just have someone punch you while you drink it so ya don't notice the taste? Heh, just jokes, but I have heard that it's pretty nasty.

As far as the tablets or powder, is one better than the other? I would guess the powder, but I'm not sure. Any tips? I hate juicing things myself, so one of the other forms would be easiest for me.

It is much cheaper to buy bulk powder from online herbal shop than to buy retail in capsules. You can mix and match and create your own superfood.

Wheatgrass Rules
I, at one time, was up to 4 oz. a day of fresh squeezed juice. I never had more energy in my life. Years later I felt the results again, after stating to run, my endurance shot up dramatically after taking it for a few days. I have now purchased a mini greenhouse to grow it more conveniently because i am going back to the well again to help cure a chronic illness I recently was diagnosed with and I expect great things again and expect my habit to stick this time.

It is very rich in all sorts of nutrients, and it does have a strong cleansing effect.
But don't think that taking a little wheat grass will clean your whole body out.

Robek's, a smoothie store near me, now carries this stuff and you can get a shot for approx $2. From what I've heard though, once you cut the grass, you only have about 5 minutes before the nutrients in the juice loose their potentcy. Because of this, I question whether or not the pills or powder really have any value....

Wheatgrass Is Great
I use wheatgrass for an energy boost and full body cleanse. I buy mine at wholesale also and this company has the best I think. Its packed fresh and in special foil bags to preserve the potency.
The company (Farm) name is Sharp Labs Inc. The link is:
http://www.sharpweblabs.com/shop/whe...ic-p-1119.html
The web site is simply:
www.SharpWebLabs.com
They do have quite a few interesting bodybuilding products also and sell big in organic herbs and such.

I am a huge health nut and thought I had my diet down pat until I found wheatgrass. I was growing in my home for several months until I stumbled upon a new wheatgrass powder made in Korea. The company is called INS and they grow it aeroponically -- anc combine the roots with the leaf to make it insanely more nutritious. I get it here for the cheapest:
www.organicmma.com/products
Just got tired of growing and dealing with all that. but this new stuff is the best out there

Best Place to get herbs and other supplies
Hi guys..interesting thread you have going here.
I would suggest you visit the following site for the best quality herbs and other supplies for your personal health/spa/nutrition requirements:
mokshalifestyle.com
Seems they have a large collection of really well priced natural materials which you can order online.
Though some products are missing from their list, I have always been able to get a speedy reply from them upon inquiring about them. They arrange for any/everything you may need, even if they don't have it on their website!

I'm also wondering too how effective the pills are. Or the powder. Any other reports or feedback?

There is a great study that was done that, at the least, will give you some idea of what vitamins and minerals etc you get from drinking Wheatgrass juice. It's by barleyleaf.co.nz
This is where I started (nutritional studies) because it was hard to sort through all of the information and find out what was accurate and what was not.
I hope that helps!
