What is the lowest HEALTHY body fat % ?

I've gone from 30% down to 9% over the past 14 months - how much lower would be safe? I was thinking about giong down to 6-7% before I bulk. All opinions welcome...

    Thanks in advance

    Patrick.

for me somewhere around 6-7% bf, many bodybuilders go so low for a show then go back to 15% bf after that, too low is not very healthy, i say 7%bf, congrats on your transformation of BF, i cant wait till i get to 10%...
Goal: Fat loss, I wanna get lean before bulk

I was around 8% in my prime collegiate rowing days and that was about as low as I could go w/o feeling REALLY weird. That was at 6'5", 205 lbs and in insane shape.

Based on the progress pics that you posted in another thread, you are MUCH lower than 9%. I would guess you are at 4-5% already.

The health class i took said the lowest 'healthy' body fat percentage (for men) was 6%. That low may not be healthy for everyone, though.

Yeah, below 6% your hormone's start going crazy. Actually it depends on the person, you'll be able to tell if you've gone too far because you won't be able to get it up... at all, until you've put on some fat again.

You're lower than 9 though, I think you'd look 100x better at 10% with 20 more pounds of muscle on you than right now.

Mullins your a ripped sinewy tan dude! I wouldn't worry about going lower and as others have suggested, I'd slowly try to add a clean 10 - 15 pounds over the winter and then get to the level you are at now. You would look pretty damn good if you did that. In addition, you'll have more mass to put people on their ass playing hockey!
