    I normally eat

2 Table spoons of peanut butter
    1 Table spoon of Honey
    1 Glass of Milk

I'm not sure if this is the best but i figured it would take a while to digest that so it would hold me over till i woke up.

casein/miscellar casein protein and maybe some efa's to slow absorption of protein even more.

    My shake before bed:
2 scoops of ON Casein Powder
    2 fish oil caps

    Other good ideas:
    cup of cottage cheese
    16 oz. skim milk

    cup of c.c.
    Natural peanut butter

Up until today I've been having 2-3 glasses of skim milk and a cup of fat free cottage cheese... but I just started supplementing ZMA, and I've read that the calcium in dairy will cancel out the zinc (basically end up fighting for mineral absorption because the milk just sorta sits there).

So now I don't know if I'd be better off taking the ZMA and waiting half an hour before my last meal... which would contain all the dairy. OR find an alternate source such as peanut butter to slow absorption.
Intake - Requirement = Caloric Excess (Deficit if negative and maintenance if zero)

Just take the ZMA an hour to 30 mins before bed. Then immediatly before bed take the shake/meal.

    Haha, that's the way.

Anything with casein, milk products galore. I have a pint of milk (500ml) and yoghurt. I can just about hold the piss until I wake up in the morning, sometimes I wake up though and have to take a leak.

To stay away from possible gains of fat, I like to either have a Nitro-Tech RTD or some quality fruit. A lot of times, I will have both. Having late night hunger is very common, and it is a killer if you are trying to build muscle and lose fat. Even with that said, good nutrition at night is just fine because your muscles are hopefully screaming for it, waiting to grow!

I prefer eating about 2 pounds of meat prior to bed so that it takes more than 3 hours to digest the protein in there. I like to eat lean beef, turkey, chicken, and I feel great waking up. It is better to eat protein before bed so you dont wake up and piss, interrupting your sleep. By the time you get up, you will be ready to **** it out. PERFECT SOLUTION! Drink your protein during the day, eat it at night.

dude dont take this as a kick in the bollocks but dont take to much tuna three tins a week max as it has high mercury levels, i no its high in protien, and it is tempting because its easy to get hold of but to much of it will cause a serious effect same goes for salmon, oily fish is good sardies and pilcherds etc but thats still not the best thing to eat before bed, cottage cheese is an amazing food to eat before bed and milk.

What is with the deal with "tuna has high merc levels, it will destroy your brain bro," I guess I should get rid of all that tuna I caught offshore, accept for maybe some baby size servings.

a good thing before bed is :

a good protien blend ( mainly cesian protien )
    2 tbs peanut butter
    2 tbs flax seed oil
    1 banana
almond milk ( i dont think milk is good for humans. and Almond milk sounds bad but tastes great and is great for you. )

    Thumbs up

the best thing you can consume before going to bed is a protein shake, this will give your muscles the nutrients they need to rebuild while your rest. I would also stay away from carbs after 6 'o' clock, as it can cause you to gain fat. Good luck.
