    Talking I'm dreaming sweet dreams about deadlifting

    Deadlifts tomorrow baby!!!!

    A few weeks ago I was so excited about deadlifting the next day that I had trouble sleeping that night.

    haha i feel ya, i moved from bodyweight pullups to weighted and bent over rows to pendlay rows. i prefer pendlay over regular bent over rows anyday.

    just did deads yesterday. I havent been able to do them for a year due to a lower back injury. I actually still have the injury but the pain is not bad so i decided to incorporate deads back into my program and was able to do 315 x 5 for i did a total of 5 working sets. back feels good

    I too dream about deads as well.

    On my last PULL workout, I set a new Personal Record of 315lbs for 4 reps.

    I did feel like I was losing form, so I will stay at 315lbs as the max for about a month. WHen I can crank out 8 reps at 315lbs, I may add another 50lbs to that and see what happens. I think for now, I will work in the 275lb range for working sets.

    Granted, I cannot hold the bar with 315lbs on it without my versagripps, but eventually, I will start using a varied grip without the versagripps...

    i wouldn't call it cool, i'd call it pretty stupid. what kind of an idiot writes a poem about going to bed with a smile on his face and all is well in the world cuz he gets to deadlift tomorrow? that's one of those things you look back on 5 years from now and feel like a moron for saying. I have no problem with deadlifts or any other hard lift, i do them all the time. that doesn't mean i say i dream about them and all is well in the world and i can't sleep cuz i'm so excited. sheesh. it's just a lift.

    i think some of you take this idea of "i know about deadlifts and squats, and all you do is work your biceps, haha i'm so smart" concept way too far. i'm sure you must feel really proud knowing that you know lifts that others don't do at your gym, like you're really in the know.

    Some people see it more than an exercise and not something they "have to do," like a test of strength, a challenge, a little like climbing a mountain or doing a circuit lap or a 1/4 mile drag in a car and aiming for a better time. Why do people do any of that stuff? Chasing a big deadlift is no different. We've all got different reasons for doing what we do.

    Some guys want a big bench whereas I'm only interested in building a bigger chest with presses. I'm not going to criticize them for it. On the other hand the deadlift is a lift I don't do for bodybuilding reasons and it's a great feeling to keep a log of your progress and see the numbers going up. Nobody here is ever going to have a big deadlift just going through the motions because to have any chance at all they've got to really want it.

    Anyway, dumping **** on a guy who says he enjoys them only makes you look like a jerk. Newsflash: you don't have to click on the reply button.
