body dents?
lol this is the weirdest thing. for quite a while now i have noticed that my body dents very easily and drastically. for instance, if i sit in my computer chair with my leg under my other leg for about 5 minutes, and then get up, there will be a HUGE dent in my leg. it dents very deep and sticks that way for quite awhile. it looks like someone cut a piece out of my leg! another example-- in the morning when i get up, my butt/hips/waist area is totally dented in the shape of my underwear and it sticks for awhile. this is not just little skin dents, it goes very deep and actually shapes my body. it is even freaking my husband out because they are SO drastic! does this happen to anyone else and what could be the cause?
thanks for any insight! clare

Are you getting enough water and salt? As I understand it, if you press into your skin like that, and it leaves a white mark that takes a while to go back to pink, you're dehydrated. If you get enough water, too little salt can contribute to that, as I understand it.
By the way, I have good news that I've learned since I got pregnant. You can NOT dent the baby's head by having sex.

I am not sure about the answer.
But I was travelling through Central America in March and this was happening to my friend. She would push on her leg and then a big dent would stay there. we were kinda worried (thinking crazy travel sickness!), but we figured maybe she was dehydrated and drink more. so she did and it did go away. So not sure if that was it, but it may be?

Haha, nice
I'm not really sure about this one, but do you take a multi? Get enough water?

Sounds like pitting edema, although that *typically* occurs mostly in dependent areas, such as ankles and legs. Barring any cardiac, liver, or renal problem, the usual culprit is salt retention. Sometimes it's worse pre-menstrually, or around menopause.
Perhaps doing a google search for "pitting edema" or "idiopathic edema" may give you some additional info. Contacting your doc would probably be a good idea. Good luck with it!

A deficiency in healthy fats might be a possibility... that could cause a sort of dryness, regardless of fluid intake.
