Does Whey cause an Insulin spike???

And if it does,is it because of whats in some of the shakes,or do all do it??

Insulin basically shovels nutrients into the cells right??So the more nutrients ingested with that Insulin, the more nutrients get where they need to be correct??

I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand he was out cold, convulsing on the floor like a infantile retard." -Mike Tyson

No carbs and sugar cause insulin spikes.

They are normal but as a bodybuilder you would want to limit your insulin spikes. You want the biggest most effective one post workout.

Yes, protein does cause some insulin spike, but nothing like carbs do.

    ^ Yep.

Also which whey protein are you talking about?

Are you talking about the protein itself or the product? It might contain sugars and such for flavoring.

Your average everyday Whey Shake like ON or Designer Whey, I know some contain artficial sweetners, and some contain a tiny bit of Dextrose, but surely this small amount can't cause a insulin spike, right?

I would assume not. I mean we all use protein shakes during keto diets.

leucine specifically stimulates insulin release, but in general aminos stimulate glucagon.
