I felt a lot better once i realized that 5'10" was 70 inches not 60 lol
I think the tape measure is much more accurate since it gave me 13.36 and the calipers gave me 11.82.
Not bad considering that after thanksgiving I was around 30% BF with the tape measure, and weighed 185lbs, and had not lifted or even exercised for 8 years and was smoking 2 packs a day, eating fast food everyday, and not affraid of some bacardi and coke! I was in great shape and a little Mentzer inspired lifting fool when I was in my mid twenties and early 30s. But the mental strain of heavy duty and personal records at every workout for 6 years finaly broke me and I succumbed to bad habits and a false acceptance that there was no more reason to work out or stay healthy since the kids were out of school and I was now mature.
What a difference 7 months of work make, I can now easily beat the marine corp 3 mile run qualification (had not done that for 23 years and two nightmare military knee operation screwups), a 15 mile bike ride is a nice prework ride, can squat in the high 300s and dead in the high 200s and now weigh in at 158 lbs (a 4 lb increase over the last month with no change in waist size) Still bulking and hope to get back to my previous out of shape weight of 185, but be in shape like when I was 30! That body fat tracking is so important for motivation and evaluation of progress. Thanks for throwing it out there for the +35ers!

I gave up trying to figure out what my body fat is, or worrying about it. I don't mean this to come off uppity or condescending. I'm saying it only because I used to drive myself NUTS trying to figure out what my bodyfat actually was. The problem is that there are so many methods, and none of them correspond.
I think the best progress and measurement tools are a tape measure, clothes and possibly a mirror. Mirrors can lie, so I'd rely on that less than a tape measure and clothes. In fact, you can cheat with a tape measure. Use your clothes. Shirts should get tight in the chest, arms and shoulders but loose in the midsection, and pants should get loose in the waist and tight in the legs.
Just my $.02"Go home, have a beer and smash something. That's what I would do" - Unknown (but probably Thor).
