How early to start preparing for competitions?

Putting training/diet aside, talking about like getting your posing and routine down pat. Ive read about some pros where perfecting their posing and routines for years before actually competiting. Also what else can you do to make sure youre gonna be in perfect condition? Like making sure youre flexability is good etc. Any tips?

Plan a show a year in advance. Train for it, idet for it, prep it and kick butt. If you put a half ass effort into the prep process, you look like hell on stage and get beat badly. The most dedicated guys wins.

    Never enough

it is never to early to start preparing. Conditioning comes with time. You ask about flexibilty, well that is something that is not going to happen over night and if you do not stretch after workouts then you need that much more time to make yourself flexible. It a marathon, not a sprint and it may take a couple of shows to get it all down pat. Posing, flexibilty dieting. All of it. That is why to early is never early enough.
