losing body fat and gaining muscle?
my question is, am I on the right track to losing body fat and at the same time gaining muscle mass or do I need to be eating more, because I am losing weight and I went up in everything today (weight wise in working out)
so basically I lift for 2 hours a day and I take kre-alkaline, my routine is a lil somethin like this..
monday - chest/triceps/neck
tuesday - back/biceps/forearms
wednesday - shoulders/cardio
thursday - chest/triceps/neck
friday - back/biceps/forearms
saturday - shoulders/legs
I only do cardio for 35 mins tops but I throw that in like 3 times a week and here's how I've been eating for 3 weeks now..
morning - oatmeal with a chopped up banana and a piece of whole wheat toast on the side
later in the morning - an oatmeal cookie lol I take'em to class
afternoon - grilled chicken on wheat bread or on a salad or with vegitables
afterwork out - protein shake
night - grilled chicken or cereal or sometimes nothin
besides the milk for the protein all I drink is water

What type of bull**** is that? If he recovers from it, it doesn't matter does it? Look into Chad Waterbury's 10x3 for fat loss, that routine is fubared. A split like that is of no benefit for you. You want to trigger and elevate GH and test more, and keep it elevated for obvious reasons. Another wtf for working out your legs only once a week. Squat more. I hope you deadlift on back day too.

STFU big dave, obviously you don't know much.
OP- make sure you eat more, the gains you are making won't keep goiong like that unless you eat more meals. also ditch the cookie, look up the protein bars recipes or buy some. they'll fill you up lots better for not much more. keep eating throughout the day and you'll keep gaining.

To answer the thread title, no, I don't think it's possible. You can do one of two things:
Build muscle
Burn fat
For the former, a caloric surplus is prerequisite, whereas a deficit is necessary for the latter.

*some people see gains when taking glutamine, etc. with a muscle building supp like creatine, but most already on creatine won't gain while cutting.
